True, it's just interesting.

I could literally ship him an endless amount of vehicles for 3-4k less than he has his listed for. If he's able to sell them for that, you could literally print money by buying them here and shipping them 4-500 miles south.

I have been looking for an explorer/pilot for my dad. They are all under MSRP in Chicago, IN, Ohio, WI... basically the whole midwest. I don't know if this is explorer specific but there seem to be many reasonable deals, at least on relatively base 4wd models. Pilots are all under MSRP too.

New 2021 Explorer XLT for 6k less than MSRP.

You know that I don't have them listed for that, correct? And that I'm not buying them for that price, correct? And that I'm not selling anything for that, right?

Akins has the following:
33 F-250's with 2k discounts
200 F-150's with up to 8k discounts.
126 Explorers with 4k discounts
Over 800 Fords in stock.
How are they getting so many vehicles?

Were you able to get any F-150's from them?

It's a weird time for sure, everything is priced really high. We are trying to buy a house and it's absolutely the worst time to do that but we have another kid on the way so it's time for us to upgrade as soon as we can. It is what it is. At least when it comes to buying my wife a Pilot later this year I get my employee rate which is set at XXX dollars over invoice. I won't be paying a markup. Not that I ever would on a Honda anyways.

At least in my area it was "cheaper" to build.Have to wait till hopefully near December but I wasn't going to pay a higher markup for a house right away with options we didn't want.

Got silly around here. Ended up at 415k for a 3 car garage with length to store my truck and other shit with impact windows and some nice upgrades when similar smaller houses(by same builder) that were base AF were priced and sold at 440k+ to move in now.

If I bought the house a year ago, the price probably would of been around 330-340k.

Oh well. Flip side I sold my last house for a lot more than I was expecting to get so it's relative I guess.

I just ordered a new 2021 f150. No crazy mark-up here. Maybe a perk of living in a smaller town?

I'm looking at a vehicle that you have listed on your website. You have this 2021 Explorer limited with 51,300 msrp listed for 48,050. Now, I don't know what you actually sell a vehicle like this for but I'm just showing that there are a ton of them up north for way under msrp.
New Ford Inventory | Chuck Anderson Ford in Excelsior Springs

Here is one with 51,235 MSRP in Pennsylvania listed for 43,906.

Except....the Explorer I have listed in stock is a new 2021 Explorer Limited with 0 miles on it. The 2021 Explorer you shared is a Ford Courtesy Transportation vehicle, meaning it has between 2-4,000 miles. It also will be eligible for $2,000 extra rebates that mine would not be. To continue, if you read the description, that price also includes the consumer trading in a 2000 or newer vehicle worth at least $1,000.

But after reading that, they'll get warnings from Ford. At the top of their ad, it specifically states the trade has to be 2000 or newer...down in the next paragraph it states 2010 or newer. They also spiff $1,000 to finance through them, which is in turn made up on the back end.

I hate dealers that advertise like that.

Inflation is here. It’s going to be hell. Royal hell.
I know a dealer that 2 years ago sold an F-350 for $62k. They recently bought it back for $64k and reselling for $69k.

I bought my Ram 2500 for $57500 in 2018 and sold it 2 weeks ago private party for $62,500. And the most weird thing? The guy could not have been happier because it kept him from having to pay an even dumber price for a new truck. Craziness.

We've noticed that RAM owners are prospering the most out of the Big 3 in terms of trucks right now. Mostly contributed to their lower buy in point, and now the sell out points are all very similar.

Truth.

I ordered a new 2021 Dually last month for about 6% under invoice or 12% off MSRP.

Ram dealers seemed to be the only ones willing to deal---Catch is i will have to travel to pick up the truck once it arrives. Fine by me.. road trip home.

RAM dealers right now are the only ones with inventory.

Is it mostly due to less supply or are there actually more buyers than usual compounding the problem? It'll be interesting to see if 3-4years down the road how underwater the people who are buying today will be.

Absolutely less supply. My inventory is down 80%. I know dealers that are in much worse shape than I'm in.
