BBK clutch cable

has anyone used a bbk cable, my cable snapped the other day, purchased a bbk cable with my existing quadrant setup, i routed the cable the exact way the previous cable was and it is EXTREMELY STIFF, i have never felt such a stiff pedal it literally feels like im lifting off the ground, the previous clutch cable may have been OEM not sure but it felt alot better and softer than this thing.

Spraying some WD40 or silicone lube will probably free it up. I've had to do that a couple times. Made a noticeable difference in pedal effort.

That being said I'm not a fan of adjustable cables. They always seem to have issues. Stock with a firewall adjuster is the best way IMO.

thats a good idea, im going to try that thanks, yeah OEM is the best way to go thats forsure.

Oil cable.

I had both oem and adjustable cable do the same thing.

Even snapped the end pushing so hard

I wasn't a believer until I did it.

threw some oil in the cable today, feels good as OEM now thanks for the idea, regardless i may still change it due to possibly stretching it the one day i did drive it with the stiff clutch.

Stick to OEM, believe me aftermarket don’t mean better in this case.

Just my 02 from what I recall.
Non oem cables are often thinner and make trouble with stretching and not laying in quadrant grooves well.
Oem cables and especially MM have some kind of liner between the cable skin and the cable..maybe teflon..to make them not bind. Heat from the motor and exhaust give that cable a workout and can cause binding.

I have my MM firewall adjusted cable wrapped in a flame proof silver liner that wraps on with velcro. It is also tie-wrapped along its length.

It may do nothing...but I think it does.

It helps if you have headers. When I had the bassanis on my car would get hard to shift if I was stuck in traffic for a while. Covered the cable in some heat shield and it worked fine after that.
