The bullshit is just going to keep getting worse and nothing is going to stop it. I feel so sorry for future my kid is going to grow up in.
This post right here is the whole story behind the story.
We let this once great country get rekked for the next generation. Your kids.
Once something goes full fubar it ain’t fixable no more. So sad.

Dumb idiots are running on gas stations here. Filled up on Sunday. Wife today. But nevertheless, this is more of a stunt than anything. The only shortages are the ones we are creating for ourselves

Based and more virtue signaling by the left. The left does not want to fix anything because they say everything is just fine.

All utility and other such infrastructure need to not be connected to any sort of network. This kinda reminds me of Battlestar Galactica, where the Galactica had no networked computers for the entire ship and why most things were ran analog save for FTL, Nav, and specific subsystems. The Cylons couldn't hack it if there was nothing there to hack. I think we should move to a similar system, run things analog and nothing networked should have any capability to render the system kaput in a few keystrokes. Yes it requires more labor/manpower, but the return is worth it.

That's why we passed on kids. The future here looks bleak. Unfortunately, nowhere else is any better.
China has done much of that, running redundant fiber optic lines so over the air communication isn't required.

Makes me glad I bought a plug in hybrid daily driver last week. I can see this just being the start of what is to come.

The actual pipeline side wasn't "hacked", just the business side and they shut down operations as a precaution.

US declares emergency after ransomware shuts oil pipeline that pumps 100 million gallons a day
Colonial Pipeline Cyberattack: What Security Pros Need to Know

The supposed responsible group has even put out a statement that they're only in it for the money, not to cause disruptions. Which really indicates they're not nation state related, but its impossible to really tell who operates these groups.

Man, if only we had some type of federal agency too protect us from these things or at least punish the perpetrators...

You jest, but we don't actually have that. CISA has been improving since the Solarwinds deal, I'm surprised how much useful information came out of them so far. There are several big things in the works to move us towards having better defenses, but its tricky for the gov to actively defend private companies. That would be akin to the Navy escorting private boats around in international waters.

Protection may be tricky. Punishment is/should not.

bidens America is a ****in disaster.

Every time an entity is hacked it’s money in the bank for my wife. The cyber security in America is a joke. Watch what happens when some day the military is breached.
Companies do not like to spend lots of money to prevent hacks but when it happens to them they get bent.
Just last month in Massachusetts the car inspection system got hacked and was down for a month. I just sit back and laugh.
Welcome to Biden's America! :)

You know while we are talking about fuel prices. What happened to mid-grade at 10 cents above regular and premium at 20 cents above regular? For the last several years premium is now 70-80 cents a gallon more than regular. Don't know if it is that way every where or just NC but it drives me crazy.

Except my decision was made before the pipeline news due to my 120 mile round trip daily. I have my Mustang (605 rwhp) and my 4x4 to get me those low barely double digit gas figures.

.
Nothing like a bit of irrational mental gymnastics to justify a bad decision.
