Didn't they always offer a carbon edition that utilizes more CF and is lighter? I remember it being more for appearance vs actually being considerably lighter, but they could always do a carbon edition that really lightens the car.
I didn't know they did a carbon edition Corvette, looked it up and it was in 2011, stayed the same weight in the article I read.

It had carbon fiber hood, wing, splitter, and skirts. While yes they were lightweight parts, the base z06 didn’t have a splitter or side skirts. So you were adding some weight to the base car. Also, there was a weight penalty for bigger wheels/tires, and mag ride. Hence weight savings wasn’t as much, maybe not at all, depending on what source you get your date from. But you got a better handling car, and infinitely better looking IMO.

Carbon brakes was probably the biggest item. These were bad ass but $ to replace.

Have them on my c6zr1. They truly are amazing. Equal to the Porsche carbon brakes, which is saying a lot.

Awhile back we talked and the C8 Z06 came up, are you going to take the plunge? Are you willing to ditch your low rent interior, big displacement, massive torque, modern classic Vette or the new and improved smaller displacement, torqueless C8 Z06? Does faster lap times equal better for you?

Me personally I have hated GM since 2007 and their quality has always left a bad taste in my mouth but I have always been a sucker for a mid engine high revving motor and GM always makes a phenomenal performing car so I'm at a cross road.

My head telling me not to even bother and its gonna be the same POS I have had 2x ..... my heart is saying it's a high hp high mid engine that i love at a fraction of what i would normally pay so i should go for it.

What’s up man. Still strongly considering the c8z06. I just need a ton more details, however.
What’s the straight line performance gonna be like? I know it will perform in the twisties, but I wouldn’t care for gt350 type vehicle that is slow in acceleration. And kinda hoping they change the rear of the car some.
Def not getting rid of my zr1 although the interior is atrocious. C7 seats and a cf steering wheel would help that. I Love the looks and I just put a cam in it. If the z06 is not to my liking, I may opt for c8zr1. Be kinda cool to have the c6 and c8 together.

well it will have almost 100hp more and will weight less than a gt350 so it would be plenty for the street. With that said If you don’t want it for the track or backroads I wouldn’t waste your time.

I’d post a video real quick if I knew how. Can I just attach the video from my iPhone to here?
Yeah, click the little picture thing at the top of the reply box and browse from device, unless it’s a YouTube video link then just post the link.

I can get a pic to post from my photo album. But it won’t allow me to post a video from my photo album. Says it doesn’t have the proper extension? Oh well. No big deal. Was just my cammed idle clip of the zr1.
