I have a 2011 GT that apparently has a seized motor. A few days ago I was coming to a stop at a red light and when I hit my brakes, the car completely shut off and would not start. There were no odd noises, no smoke or anything odd before all of this happened.

The shop that has it, stated that they couldn't get it to turn by hand or anything.

Anyone know where I could get a gen 1 long block or gen 2?

Sorry to hear, never fun. All I have to add is you need to provide way more info. Is this a basic bolt on engine or a build? A locked up stockish engine would make me wonder, especially those conditions. Just starting from square 1.

Ya, something doesn’t quite add up.

Seized means there was some sort of a mechanical problem inside the engine. Hard parts failed or even hydrolocked.

With either of those you’d typically have some noise or over heating going on.

If somehow you had a failed injector and it pumped a cylinder full of gas, you would’ve had a warning with rough running, CEL, smoke, etc.

I would def investigate something exterior (accessories, trans, starter).

What shop is this at?
