I live my life by one simple mantra. What evah a lib wants me to do I do the opposite.
So to summarize. No mask. No vaxx. No electric cars. No recycling. I eat red meat, all the time. I drive gas guzzling V8’s. I have two of em. One has had a recall for 3 years due to emissions leaking into the atmosphere. Never getting fixed. I loath liberals and wouldn’t have it any other way that they want me Ded.

If there’s anything else I forgot I’ll come back and add it later. I’m busy now.

So I work in emissions, and report to the EPA, random fact of the day.

I test oil field engines once a year. My test is 3 hours. They have a mechanic on site to make it run within federal specifications for 3 hours. After that 3 hours.. the engine runs like shit, and pollutes like crazy for 8,757 hours.

Almost as if they don’t truly care about the environment ... and just want a piece of paper showing compliance

1972 was the beginning of the end of the Golden Age of muscle cars. They went away for fuel economy, for the oil crisis. They went away for safety. They went away for insurance, and they went away for increasing emission standards. It’s kind of crazy to think about we’re getting close to a similar list of things right now. So is this 1972 right now and we just don’t know it because we’re just drunk on the horsepower? I’m super excited about the future of electric because I think it’s what’s going to allow us to not fall off the cliff. Without that technology, without electrification. This is 1972 right now, this thing is going to end.
Crazy to think that the progressive left will leave our hobby alone even once the average commuter is in their shiny new EV...

One think to note here is that Tim said electrification, so I am guessing there will be more 48 volt systems with the hellcat in the future. He didn't explicitly say that BEVs will replace the hellcats. Given FCA sells a ton of 48 volt system cars, I am guessing that is the direction they will go.

Even looking beyond this, road courses and drag stripes are already going away. I truly believe if someone wants a brand new performance car, now is the time to buy because it is highly unlikely cars like the GT500, Hellcat, ZL1 1LE, V8 Raptors, etc will be produced in the future. I ordered a ZL1 1LE because I think its the ultimate brand new manual transmission track car that you can get under 100k. Between inflation; limited supply of cars; and the chip shortage, the demand for these cars will be high in the future with very limited supply.

Can't wait for Ford to announce the new Shelby Cobra electric minivan!

Introducing the Shelb-E. It's a dual motor BEV crossover, 5000lb, and will run the 1/4 mi in 9.1. 200 mi range, 20mi if you drive it hard. It's larger than the Mustang Mach E, and is the largest of Ford's 18 all CUV lineup, ranging from the ElecTaurus to the Shelb-E.

And it is lesser, public trans is disgusting and terrible and nobody wants to do it. Id rather sit in my car in traffic and find parking for 2hrs than public transit for 20min.

But think of the environment! That's why we're getting rid of planes. You have to take trains now- twice the cost of flying and 10x the travel time. But it will make Greta smile.

BAM you're gonna pay full price you pheasants, bc **** you, you'll pay it anyways.

Car company's in general need to stop hiring refrigerator sales men and start hiring car people.... watching that "unveil" it really could have been the most advanced refrigerator in the world with 11 extra power outlets and an ice maker in the door and some glow lights it would have been no different.

If anything appliance salesmen make the most sense. People want something flashy with as big a touchscreen as possible, as many apps as possible, and as many charging ports as possible. Fridges, coffee pots, cars, couches, doesn't matter. That's what people want. Most of us are an extreme minority.

So I work in emissions, and report to the EPA, random fact of the day.

I'm shocked at that. On the automotive side they make us jump through so many hoops its crazy. Hell we have mandatory training on how they will sniff that sort of thing out. They've got a real hard on for tampering or defeat devices lately (thanks, VW.) But we also have to contend with the likes of CARB and OBD as well.

Jim Farley is way more of a car guy than you'll ever be.

Ford could jolt electric vehicle sector again with investor event next week
  • Ford (NYSE:F) hosts its first investor day event since 2017 on May 26 just as the automaker appears to be gaining momentum after the introduction of the electric version of the iconic Mustang and F-150 sales monster.
  • Wells Fargo largely expects Ford to reaffirm long-term margin targets (8% overall, 10% in North America and 6% in Europe) and focus on the future mobility themes around electric vehicles, autonomous tech and Big Data. Analyst Colin Langan and team are also optimistic the event will feature some positive surprises, possibly on the Big Data front.
  • Also expect some conversation from Ford on the battery joint venture with SK Innovation. Wells Fargo notes the JV is massive in scale at 60 GWh vs. Tesla's Gigafactory at around 50 GWh. Ford could also release some details on a planned EV being built on Volkswagen's (OTCPK:VLKAF) MEB platform in 2023. Updates on the Argo AI business and the BlueCruise level 2 autonomous system could also attract notice.
  • The Detroit automaker is attracting a lot of attention. Ford generated more than 44,500 reservations for the F-150 Lightning in the first 48 hours after its event last week, a mark that earned a congratulatory tweet from Tesla's (NASDAQ:TSLA) Elon Musk. Analysts and industry reporters are largely positive on the Ford electric push. The F-150 reveal also sent jolts across the electric vehicle sector as investors weighed the implications for automakers like Lordstown Motors (NASDAQ:RIDE), Canoo (NASDAQ:GOEV)and Nikola (NASDAQ:NKLA).

It's cute, but not a fan by any means. I'll keep my 7.3L Tremor indefinitely the way things are going. Probably have the last big block America will ever produce.
