P0605

I had 3.73 gears installed and when I reflashed my VMP tune to adjust for the gear change this code popped up. I flashed it back to the tune I had for the stock gears and the code so far hasn't reappeared. Does VMP have to tune for the gear change? I was always under the impression that I could do it straight from the tuner.

P0605 - Internal Control Module Read Only Memory (ROM) Error

Description:
The PCM ROM has been corrupted.

Possible Causes:

•  An attempt was made to change the calibration
•  Module programming error
•  Aftermarket performance products
•  Damaged PCM

Diagnostic Aids:
Reprogram the vehicle identification (VID) block. Check for other DTCs or drive symptoms for further action. Check for aftermarket performance products before installing a new PCM. If it is necessary to install a new PCM, refer to Section 2, Flash Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) , Programming the (VID) Block for a Replacement PCM.

I flashed back to stock and then reflashed again with the VMP tune to reflect the 3.73 change. Went for a 15 mile drive and no code. Hopefully that worked. Thanks.

Light came back on. BJ is going to send me a tune revision. Hopefully that works.

Reviving an old thread. I had an H pipe installed on my car, and HP tuners (via laptop) turned off the O2 sensors. Now, have this code. I clear it and it comes back. Any ideas?
I have not done a CAM reset, but thinking of doing it and putting drive cycles on it.

Figured it out.... just turn off the code in the computer. Light has stayed off now that we turned off the reading.
