To somewhat quote Ruxin from The League; “if you’re gonna buy a cheap POS kit-car’ish…thing, there is a reasonable expectation you might die when driving it.”

except this isnt cheap nor is it a pos. having owned some of the best cars ever built (mclarens, amg benz, ferrari, zr1's, gt500's etc etc) I can tell you without any bias that the t-rex is the rawest experience of driving I have ever experienced. nothing comes close. the parts on it are all top shelf items (elka shocks, wilwood brakes, zx-14 engine, mechanical reverse system, over 210hp and 950lbs etc etc)

if you watched the video you will see the problem isnt with the parts, the problem is with the pdi and assembly.

Is there a way to put dual master cylinders in it? One for the front brakes and one for the rear? This is why the auto industry has a split system because back in the day if you had a line blow out you had no brakes. With a split system if you lose the a line or caliper in your case you will have the safety of having another brake to stop with.

that would be a great solution! since posting the video I have had a few canadians reach out to me and tell me mine isn't the only one that this has happened to...they are saying the pdi isnt happening before shipping! How sad to make such an incredible machine and then let everyone down by not doing a simple pdi and putting lives at risk!

My 56 chevy is single. Scary thoughts go through your head. Will switch to dual.

Glad to hear you're OK.

You don't inspect quality into parts/products.
- What was called out by the DE?
- What does the print say?
- What does the PO say?
- Is a cert required by the PO?
- Was the part counterfit? (BTW: You'd be amazed at what is faked)
- If so, was a cert recieved with the parts?
- Is the fastener mfg process capable of catching this type of defect?
- Did "someone do something" and just use an alternate part? I've seen it.
- "Sometimes" standard fasteners are used in mfg since "some" people consider them a commodity. I've seen it.

I'll stop there.

From my understanding they are not torqing things down properly in some situations...my guess is since they went bankrupt for a few months and things were shut down, they hired some inexperienced people to replace those that left/got let go. My first rex was perfect and incredibly well built. This one is soooo much better because of the zx14 engine but lack of PDI has made it flawed...

So it's a process and not a part or design issue?

exactly...from what I have been hearing there is NO pdi process...which makes total sense considering what I have dealt with on mine so far (sticking throttle cable, crooked steering wheel etc). When it's sorted it is a 10/10.

the only part I think they have changed and went cheap on is the gas cap.

100 percent on this one...it's pretty frustrating since it is made of all premium parts. They need to PDI these things MUCH better...from what I am hearing they do not PDI them at all...no idea how that is possible or even legal.
Oh man that is truly unreal... Vehicle like that with zero PDI.... Maybe I missed it but do you buy these through a local dealer or direct from the wannabe Frenchies?

I've lost brakes before on the road course and went into the wall nose first... It sucked ass but at least in a semi controlled environment with a HANS/saftey gear. I learned something new that day though. Anything performance related get's extremely often wheel off brake checks.

local dealer who has been excellent. He’s been selling them a long time and I can tell he’s not sure what the hell is going on since they filed bankruptcy and got bought by new owners.

just curious, if you have a picture of it sticking out, didn't you see it sticking out either in the picture or when you took the picture? glad you weren't hurt.

So…time to check the Tesla bolts. Wtf man.
Go buy a horse. Lol

Tesla issues voluntary recall on some Model 3 and Model Y vehicles to inspect brake caliper bolts - ElectrekTesla issues voluntary recall on some Model 3 and Model Y vehicles to inspect brake caliper bolts

This happened before.. On a Chevy I think. Was it the Spark? Or maybe Sonic. It's been a lot of years.

Like caliper bolts weren't installed, or pads were put in backwards or some shit. Or they didn't put pads in them at all. It was glaringly stupid of an issue.
