Buying car from Canada?

Hey guys,

My wife and I have found some 67 fastback mustangs that unfortunately are located in Canada. Has anyone dealt with a transportation carrier that transports classic cars from one country to another?

I am thinking about contacting Reliable transportation carrier. Not sure if the boarders are even open?

Obviously, if the car checks out, we would do a bank wire transfer to buy the car.

Hopefully hear from the seller soon.

I don't think Reliable ships to/from Canada. Your best bet would be to find one of those brokers nearby to you that would handle the transaction.

Thanks for the help. I could contact the lady that helped me with shipping my car from Georgia to Minnesota. I figured a big enclosed trailer like what reliable has, would take extra care vs a broker with a enclosed trailer.

Other wise the cars are over 25 years old, so should be easy.

Where is the car located?

Reliable does ship to Canada. I bought a car from the US and its being shipped by Reliable. They also ship cars from Canada to the US all the time.

The frustrating part was waiting nearly two months before they picked up the car.

Hope this works out for you (I mean, your wife).

U'll wait FOREVER for that to happen! Find something in the US. I bought a Mustang from Canada a few years back and will NEVER do that again. NEVER! What a PITA!

I kinda told the wife it sounds like it would be a major pain. Having a hard time with anyone getting back to us on any car we are looking at....

I have bought a few cars out of the US over the years. As long as the car is more than 25 years old and the paperwork is in order there should be little trouble. It maybe different with US Customs. Reliable does pick up and deliver from/to Canada, but is possibly the most expensive option.

That is a good looking car Brady. If you are looking for a car like that the Goodguys car show in Columbus Ohio is coming up next month. That will be a good place to look for one.

Currently working with TFX international. I need to call the seller today, he received invoice from them. But shipping could take 6-8 weeks.

Good luck. I am currently waiting since April 4th for mine. It should finally arrive next week(hopefully)
