Spent Saturday with both of my toys at car show in Castle Rock, CO, where it was great to see a sold-out crowd after last year's long COVID "timeout". It will be unsurprising to everyone here that the Shelby garnered more interest and compliments throughout the day. (For my part, I enjoy having the last and best 3-pedal, front-engine muscle/sports cars offered by blue oval and bow-tie in my stable.)

The Shelby was also selected from among almost 300 entries as the Fire Chief's Hottest Car. (As the water spots indicate, it rained in the last hour of the show.)

Very sweet, indeed! You know how much I prefer the base wheels over the track pack wheels. Growing up with 5-spoke Cragars, American Racing, and ET slotted-mags, I prefer 5-spokes. And not in black.

Right there with you! My SVTPP wheels have been safely stored since I scored a set of Base wheels from another forum member.

Looks great Steve! I am so bummed. I really wish I could of made it down. Looked like such a great time. Next year me and my wife are definitely registering for this. How much was it out of curiosity?

I have always been a 5 spoke guy myself. I always loved the 03-04 Roush wheels and the 03-04 cobra wheels.

These are the set of 03-04 Roush wheels I had on my 01 Cobra. One of my favorite wheels.

I do love the base wheels but locating a set was near impossible. About a month ago I came across some mint PP wheels for an absolute steal that I couldn't pass up. 5k miles and came with the TPM sensors as well. I wanted a stock set to widen over the winter. Thing is I really love the PP wheels as well. Interesting because the style isn't usually my taste.

Thanks! This show is always a good time. Note that lots of spouses and significant others usually attend, so your wife should have plenty of new friends with whom to get acquainted. IIRC, registration for this show is $25/vehicle.

Perfect! We are definitely going! I am setting a registration reminder in my phone for next year. Looks like it opens up April 2022.

Congratulations, Norton! A well deserved honor for a truly "hot" GT-500. Love your Vette, too!

Tangential question... I'm unable to "Like" either of the quoted posts. When I try to do so, the system returns an error that says "A server error occurred. Please try again later."

mother of god.
beautiful dude
Thank you sir! It's a beast for sure! Almost alittle to much for me and the public streets. But it's every bit of 50 state legal coming straight off the production floor of shelby america.

That engine compartment is a work of art!
I try to keep it clean. It gets detailed out during the winter months. It has changed slightly with some added super snake coil covers and detailed hoses as well. During the summer when it gets washed the engine compartment is covered with a custom plastic cover so it doesnt get wet and full of water spots. It works . The car really doesnt get driven that much either so that alone keeps it clean. The car only has 4000 miles on the odometer.
