Does this make any sense? Ten years ago - Ford & Mr. Shelby cared deeply about performance and their performance "image". Ford devoted a lot of engineers, engineering time, and engineering $$ to the 13 / 14 GT500's...after all this very special vehicle was "the face" of the company. Check out how proud Mr. Shelby is during his video discussing the 13 GT500...how he makes certain to mention 200MPH. That all said - It seems since MY 2020 "woke" Ford only cares about promoting EV's. That's the image they want...pandering to people other than us. They have committed most of their engineering $$ to EV's. Maybe that's why they recycled the shifter knob from the now discontinued Fusion (for the new dual clutch automatic trans.). I can't say for sure...but I do not think Ford cares about the latest GT500. EV's are now the face of Ford. Too bad. It seems we're an afterthought. We are no longer the audience they want.
Yes it makes great sense!!SHELBY told Ford to give him 25K and he can put together a car that would blow the vettes off into the bushes!!We all know what SHELBY did for Ford.John Coletti said the 03-04 COBRA was made to TERMINATE the competition!!Thats what he did.He also brought back the FORD GT,gave us the lightning,and other SVT cars.Since SHELBY died, ford performance is lackluster to say the least.When SHELBY was around the GT350,and the GT500 never had the same motor,or shared a block to my knowledge.ford performance has the same block in the GT350 and the ford performance gt500.Ford performance let dodge come and take the power crown,and 1/4 mile crown from them.SHELBY said light car big motor,well the new gt500 is a pig!!That handles Great,it beats the Crapmaro zl1,1le on the track,yes its faster than the red eye,still and all It doesnt have the shock and ahh of the 13-14 GT500!!!!!! Lets all listen and pay attention to what SHELBY said at the.1:40 mark!!

I think its obvious the higher ups at Ford have made cuts to save and make the almighty dollar. All at the expense of R&D, Quality and leading edge technology. To me, Quality has suffered and declined since the last decade.

C8Z isn't out yet and C7Z has been available since 2015, so not sure what you mean by "New Corvette Z06"?

Having a foot in both worlds since 2019, I can say this may have been the case prior to 2020. As of that year, certain new GT500 owners' insecurities eclipsed any Z06 owners may have had. It was, in fact, a 2020 CFTP owner who blamed "dust on the runway" for (someone else's) CFTP losing a half-mile airstrip race to a Corvette. It was clear, even to me (no fan of the 2020), that driver skill cost the GT500 the race. It was/is laughable, however, to blame the loss on dust that, even if it was a factor, would have been equally present on both sides of the runway. If that's not "butt hurt and insecure," I don't know what is. :rolleyes:
If if when the new Z06 comes out I think I will be one of the top dogs considering how the 2020 performs. Just my thought should be interesting! Still wouldn’t sell my 13 Shelby...

Don't get me wrong, I loved my `13 and I miss the glass roof. It's a fun car and I enjoyed every mile. If you feel the `13-`14 gt500 is the ultimate Mustang, thats great and I'm not knocking your love and passion for the S197.

If you find fault with the s550, DCT or whatever, I will remind you that the `13-`14s have their many faults as well. (no need to elaborate)

All I'm saying is the `20s brakes, suspension, engine/trans, IRS, just to name a few, are far better than what the s197 has to offer. Lets face it, the car has evolved.

If you'er looking for investments, (unless you owned a 2nd or 3rd gen FordGT since new), look elsewhere to invest.

If you want to build a "track car" to blow them both out of the water then, OOOOOk.

I think there will always be a market for a crap in your pants, live on the edge kind of car and the 2013-2014 GT500 is really that. It's not refined and the newer cars are smoother on the interior, more modern electronically, and mechanically. That said, the reason a car holds value or gains in value is not necessarily linked directly to performance but to the soul of the car and how it grabs you. I Super Snaked my GT500 and with a 3.73, a Watts link, adj RCA and altered geometry and 850 hp it's not really a sane car to drive and there's a lot of cars that would blow by me in any number of conditions, but it's a lot of fun and exciting to be a little on the edge.

I think there are always better performing cars, but there are few cars that capture you.

No matter how much our cars appreciate, there will always be those who want to make themselves (falsely) feel superior and insist that we agree that their "supercar" S550s are the best thing since sliced bread. Those particular folks try WAY too hard and it is a waste of breath quite frankly.

The Car Guru's GT500 chart starts to tell the appreciation story...the 13/14 will be the 69/70 Boss 429 of the future. Nobody can predict the future...that said, the Car Guru's chart is "here and now". We all know what we have. Others may be a tick quicker...who cares? My 2001 SVT Cobra is quicker than a Boss 429...doesn't make it worth more. Honestly - if I had another garage, I'd buy another 13/14 - maybe a coupe to sit next to my vert. BTW - 2001 sold.

I have a 14,I wish i could get a droptop 13-14!!!
