This car's performance is amazing but it is the least cool car at the track. If all you care about is performance, then you are not a car guy, never were, you are a tech guy. Nothing wrong with that but stop pretending you are a car guy. This car does not belong at a car meet, but a comic con. The guys that like this car are the ones that are butt hurt because true car guys will reject this, sorry. A car is much more than just performance.

Joe schmoes won’t buy the pricier, performance versions. They’re the Mustang/Camaro/Challenger V6 buyers.
Just because the technology supports it doesn’t mean every model will have all the performance.

Its coming bro..... The Roaster technology will be passed down to be their "Entry Level" car.

Believe it or not its not actually "Speed" that causes accidents its distracted and aggressive driving. We know this cause Germany has HALF the accidents we do per capita and yet they have the fastest driving citizens in the world.

Speed causing more severity in an accident but not more accidents themselves.

I drive a Mustang GT. This weekend, I brought our Audi RS5 home so I could experience that vehicle. I tend to do that with all of our vehicles. I spend as much time at the dragstrip as anyone. I watch automotive TV shows. I work in the automotive aftermarket. I spend my days dealing with enthusiasts all over the world. Oh, and I happen to think Tesla is pretty cool for bringing this type of performance to the people. That said, nobody here can or should be declaring someone to be or not to be a ‘car guy’ because they think this is cool. Lol. That’s just small minded ignorance.

Would you guys take a manual/hydraulic controlled P51 over an F22?? Why live in a technology laced home when a cave would do just fine?

there is room to appreciate the future while also enjoying the present. Liking Tesla by no means says you hate ICE or current performance cars.

F22 still burns gas and makes an incredible sound so not sure what your point is... You are still rooting for the cars that are going to end ICE and the fun that comes with it. I'm not going to go as far as say you aren't a car guy but Tesla's are not for car guys, they are for tech nerds

Idk, I still see all this as kind of a stepping stone because they won't be able to convert everyone but this allows people that have never even turned wrenches to go have some fun too. More people racing regardless or who they are and what they know the more companies building better parts to beat these and the faster we get... so I guess you could say this EV push is inevitably going to push performance parts manufactures/tuners to step up even more. Racing is racing, if you get mopped by an EV build a faster car.

Electric is going to hit a wall because of infrastructure. At this time they only make up 2% of the automotive market new car sales. They have a long ways to go to make them mainstream and able to replace ICE vehicles and a big chunk of that responsibility lies with our inept, irresponsible governments. Charging and battery tech is still going to have to advance 10-fold before it becomes viable to replace ICE. All these 2035 mandates are just hot air and will not be met unless we see a huge jump in battery tech which is possible because I have read about a lot of battery advances and new discoveries, but at the same time these advances do not come to market quickly or affordably at first.
