Fascinating. I've lived in my current house for 5 years. In total, the power has been off about 4 hours in that time. How many hours has the power been out at your house in the past 5 years?

As soon as someone tells me where I can live on a couple acres in the country, have a half hour drive to work, and make over $300k / year working 8 hour days without having direct reports, I'm here to listen.

Way more places than you'd guess haha

$300k in California doesn't go very far.

Average cost per square foot in a California house is $280, Missouri is $98. You could live here off $150k/year, have more land and be able to shoot guns.

It goes far enough to invest $4500/mo in real estate, invest another $4400/mo towards retirement, and have plenty left over to buy a new car or truck when I want and do pretty much anything I want to do. I will concede I could have more land in MO. My great, great grandfather was a Judge in MO at one point along the line.

Contrary to what the MSM has told you, we still shoot our guns here too.

Please keep acting like I haven't spent a ton of time in California...

Are you trying to say now is a good time to leave, or are you asking where’s a good place to relocate to? I hear Boulder and Austin are nice.

Thats true. We pay nearly 350$ SqFt where I am in California. If you ever move out of CA you can never afford to go back. However, you can also afford a monster house if you sell and get out.

We've had 18 houses in my area, that I know of, sell to California residents that are moving out of the state, this year.

I don't doubt it, its a good retirement plan. We could sell our 2300sqft house for ~1mill and pocket nearly 700K. Pretty easy to come in and outbid most persons in a low cost of living area.

My great aunt passed last year, they've had a pretty good sized 2 story house on a big corner lot with a pool for decades. My cousin is living in it right now but when she relocates it'll easily go for 2 million +, insanity (Marin county).
