Went to a cruise night the other day. Mach E pulls up, parks in the Mustang section, and even pops his "hood." Weird flex but ok. At least the C8 there was kind of neat to see up close.

Broke my left hip in 2015, this is the pin they put in it.

It was removed in 2020 during a hip replacement, my Dr. didn't think it was strange that I asked for it..
Is it titanium? Or what do they use for those? My dad passed in 2015 with a heck of a lot of metal bits holding his bones together, he was cremated. I asked to see the parts and it looked like shit from a hardware store. I was not impressed at all.

The large ball looking thing is the D1G plant, & is an example of 1950's radiation containment.

I think this pin is titanium.
I had to have a screw removed, the lower one holding the pin in place, that looked like something from a hardware store, & I wasn't impressed either..

That isnt a "pin" per se...that is a Trochanteric Nail...sumbitch goes right down the femur after a drill bit thw size of your dick reams it prior to placement...then a piece into the femoral head and done...takes less than 45 mins...fastest one i ever saw was 17 mins.

To be honest id rather just do a total hip replacement than a troch nail...better outcomes

Most are titanium these days...and yes lots of people ask to keep them

The orthopod i work with uses synthes troch nails and they are titanium

My Father worked there for a few years in the 80s as a subcontractor (Newport News Industrial).

Look almost identical to the one a few miles from me that's still operational here in Morris Illinois.... This is like 60 years old and still chugging along. I used to ride by it all the time on my Jetski on the Illinois River.

Aw man I forgot the Marshmallows and Hot Dogs.

Looks to be a KA-6 tanker, either that or it's being ferried to a distant location, land base or other carrier with that many 500 gal drop tanks.

would be interesting to see what theyre basing that waste number, there are companies forming out there specifically to break down and recycle these batteries. Im not saying its a good thing for the environment but sounds like they might be sandbagging that number.

Im curious to know what the impact of all these EV recalls is for the batteries

Electric batteries can last longer than 10 years. Maybe that stat is the "average". Hybrid cars have had their batteries last much longer than 10 years, but, the car does not use the battery exclusively unlike a full electric car.

this too, hell I think the Tesla warranty says at 8 years the battery will have 75% of original max capacity still (or something in that ballpark anyway)
