Was just wondering how many are the original owners 13-14 Shelby’s and are any ever planning on selling? I will be the first to say I’m the original owner of my 13 Shelby Convertible ordered it in 2012 and even though I never drive it I love to know that I own a very special piece of the Shelby history having 662 H.P and a 6 Speed manual transmission, Convertible top. This is the longest I have ever owned the same car other than my 1st car I purchase at 16 years old! I have owned many cars and would never keep them more than a year and move on to a newer model. Not to get off the subject but any thoughts on the C8 Z? Should be interesting!

I regret every day selling my 13 GT500 that I bought new. But I'm happy with my current 14 and have no interest in selling it ever. And I honestly could care less about the new z06 c8, it's going to be beyond stupid expensive, I'd better after dealer makeups it'll be 200k. The last vette I liked was the C6 ZR1.

I bought my '13 vert in late 2013 from a dealership in Kansas City with 3K miles. Except for a FFR Cobra (11yrs) this is the 2nd car I've owned for more than 3-4 years. People are still paying sticker or above for the C8. I believe the C8 Z06 will be north of $150K + folks will be paying 20+K over sticker for quite some time. Give me a 2019 ZR1 manual shift any day over a C8 or C8 Z06 .

I agree with you 100% with a manual transmission! How things are changing...

Ordered mine in February-ish of ‘12, got her mid May.

I don’t plan to sell, but if someone walks up with an offer that scratches an itch, I’d foolish not to consider it.

Norton, your car is always looking great! Mine isn't perfect, but it is perfect enough to me, to never want to get rid of her. I honestly don't think a S550 would feel the same. It would be great in its own way, just not compared to a 13/14.

Bought mine new in '13. See mods below. Everything is good. Paid sticker price. About 5K miles. We have 93 octane, but car likes a little VP Octainium. Toyo 888R on rear, original Goodyears on the front. I know, been trying to make myself order new front tires. Tread is good, just too old to feel safe. Not for sale.

Ordered my 14 in 2013, here is it's timeline:
.
Order date ( VOC ) - 17 May 2013
DORA - 28 May 2013
VIN # - 28 June 2013
Window sticker - 7 Aug. 2013
Blend date - 13 Aug. 2013
@ shipping - 19 Aug. 2013
CSX rail yard Twin Oaks Pa. - 8-28
Dealership - 8-30
Delivery date - 9-5-2013
.
The car came off the transport & went right to the garage next to the owners boat, the garage was locked & had limited access.
I went to the dealership early on 31 Aug. ( Sat. ), to check the car out, as it was a holiday weekend, a couple of days passed before delivery. I did get a call & was asked if I'd like to take the car to the gas station for it's 1st fill up, thought that was kinda neat.

LOL, same, pic in my avatar is it sitting in the showroom. Bought it 3/31/14 (last day of the month/fiscal quarter so negotiations were to be had :) - $5k off sticker!). Just cracked 6k miles...

That's awesome you got yours with only 6 miles on it. I wish could have ordered and speced one out how I wanted it, although my current 14 is pretty much how I'd want it, I just wish it had a glass roof and shaker subs.

I'm an original owner. Upgraded pretty much the entire power train.
I should have just kept my 2010 and put a kaase boss 9 in it. Less expensive, a lot less for insurance, would still have all the power, the engine would have cost just as much.
More wow factor on start up and when lifting the hood.
I almost changed out to an auto but wife said it was too expensive so I went with magnum xl (I love the shifts now). Let me know if anyone wants to buy a tr6060 and wants to pay shipping.

Ordered mine in February 2012 and took delivery July 12, 2012. Love it as much now as when I took delivery & have no interest in selling it. Hard to believe it is over 9 years old.

Found my 14 sitting in the showroom at D&M Motors in Greer, SC on their web site. Called them and asked for a salesman.
"Hello this is Jake how can I help you?"
"Good morning Jake, this is Bob...I'm on your web site looking at the GT500 and have a question...does it have the Recaro Seats?"
"Let me check"
"No sir...it does not have the Recaro seats but it has everything else except the glass roof."
"Great...Jake that car is now sold...please tell your manager I want to pick it up tomorrow morning and I'm going to send you $10,000 now to hold the vehicle."
"Are you kidding me Bob?"
"No Jake I'm 100% serious and you have just sold the GT500."
"This is the 1st day on the job and you are my 1st customer ever!"
"Congrats Jake...will see you tomorrow morning when you open for business will be great to shake your hand...thanks for taking my call."

Will never forget pulling into their lot and seeing about 10 salesman hanging out drinking their morning brew. Got of my truck and seen a guy in his early 20's standing next to the SMG GT500 with a smile as big as Texas. We talked for a few minutes and then went for a test drive with only 6.4 miles on the clock. Took her out on the road for a little drive and came back and signed the paperwork. This one will never be sold.

Ordered July 1, 2013.

Funny thing, the dealer was in shock and argued with me about NOT getting the Recaros. He was also shocked you cold get a glass roof on a Shelby. The only other option I didn't get was the Performance Pack. I didn't need the 3 extra coolers, weight, potential leaks and well, it was $3,000 more.

Delivered October 9, 2013.

Interestingly, it was in October as I recall that Ford discontinued Grabber Blue for 2014 production due to low numbers even though they built the vehicle for a few more months.

I have no plan of selling. It was custom ordered by me exactly how I wanted it. I truly enjoy driving the car and how it reminds me of my 69 428 Cobra Jet Mach 1 I sold in 2002. The torque is intoxicating.

Pics/back story on the ‘69?
The Cobra Jet was the Q Code eight, and the R wasn’t?

Cool story! I recall they were discontinuing the GB in the latter half of the '14 production run as well. There were 146 total GT 500s in GB in '14, 31 of them with glass roofs. Mine was built 9/23/13 and is #153 of 166.
