After a rash of break ins and a stolen Jeep in my subdivision, I'm adding another layer of protection. I had someone from Alert 360 at the house today and was fairly impressed with their ability to meet my needs:

1. Quality cameras around the house (probably six plus a doorbell cam)
2. 24/7 recording on a device in the home (NVR / DVR)
3. Receive a phone alert when a camera detects motion

Any feedback from customers here, either commercial or residential?

I have ADT. Does everything you listed, and I'm happy with my service.

Not sure what other systems have, but a couple of things I like about my Alert 360 (Alarm.com) system is that A) it runs everything through its own sim card, so no phone lines to cut, and B) it has a 72hr battery backup so even if power cuts out in the middle of the night, we're still covered. I've had it since we moved into our current house 6 years ago.

I can't speak on the cameras, since I run my own that has its own cloud service and notifies me via phone, but if you do get them, I'd like to hear more about, since I've been considering adding it on.

I like SimpliSafe, no contracts. I turn it on (monitored) when I want and turn it off (not monitored) when I want. When it's not monitored it's still an alarm, just doesn't send the notifications to me or the police, etc if the alarm goes off. There is always pretty much someone home for me so I don't need monitored all the time.

I save $787/year on my home insurance by having a monitored service. My monitored service costs me $1,054.56 a year. So for $23/month I have cameras, alarms and peace of mind.

I have a petbull and 2 chihuahuas.... all the alarm I need... those little mother****ers can sense a stranger 25yrds away and will bark up a storm. Bull at the door “ready to greet” is a great deterrent.

Same boat. We live in a nice part of CO but we are now experiencing gangs/a few people who are casing houses looking for vulnerable people to break in/rob and beat to death. This has happened a few times over the last couple months. I used to have ADT but not sure i wanna lock into a contract.

You can negotiate to a yearly contract, and then monthly after that.

For anyone wanting something cheap and effective with no contracts look up the wyze cameras on amazon. They are surprisingly good, I think we got 2 cameras for like $50. No contract fees, they back up something like 2 weeks worth of video, save video clips when motion is detected and send alert to your phone. We have been more than pleased with ours for as cheap as they are. The video quality is actually pretty decent and you can adjust the detection zones so you aren't getting a bunch of false alerts when a car drives past or flag flaps in the wind.

By no means am I claiming these are better than a true security system or the high dollar cameras/contracts but you have no excuse for not having at least some sort of visual security for as cheap as this system is.
