Got my 21 Antimatter Blue ordered

Local dealer called me today and said they got 1 more allocation so I placed my order. Markup was below what the vast majority of dealers are asking too. This color isnt too common as everyone wants the Ford Performance Blue. Both of these blues are being dropped for the 2022 cars so I wanted to order a 21. Atlas Blue is now on the 22 cars. If anyone is interested in a 21 Antimatter Blue with great options, at a dealership thats willing to deal, PM me and I'll give you the info. I was working on getting this car but its farther away from me. They've had it a while and this is a 1 year color.

Do they have the car? Be interested in seeing some pictures. I've seen the color in a GT and looked good on the GT. Just not so sure about a gt500

Did the dealership give you a Vin# or estimated delivery date? I also put an order for a 21 about 2 weeks ago, dealer says it's in the system, but still have no Vin# or estimated delivery date.

So you decided against the original one because of how far away from you it was. And instead you're special ordering one. I hope everything works out on the special order. I'd hate to have you lose out on both. Is your dealership absolutely guaranteeing that it will get this one, as you ordered it?

Antimatter Blue is a VERY dark blue, which is likely what you're wanting, versus a more medium blue hue.

CONGRATULATIONS! We love the Gt-500, they make lots of power and are a real joy to drive!

Ask for copies of the VOC and DORA.

No I wasnt given a VIN or estimated delivery date. I think the VIN comes later once the order has been accepted and put into the system at the factory. I asked about a date and the dealer told me he wont know for a bit yet, that everything is a little crazy right now, but that it could be months. He told me the Ford rep said they'd accept the order as long as it wasnt a carbon fiber track pack car. The dealer did send me a email with a order summary and order number on it showing all the specs.

Distance was part of it. The amount over sticker played into it as well. The local dealer said we can order you what you want for the amount I was willing to pay over sticker. The dealer with the car in stock was holding out for more.
I like the Antimatter Blue. I was in Florida on vacation a couple weeks ago and stopped by a Ford dealer there with a new Antimatter Blue GT500. It looked great in person, better than pictures show. After seeing that car, it made up my mind.

I will as soon as the dealer has them. He sent me a order summary that he got from Ford showing the build along with a order number but he said options could still be changed if I wanted to.

The VOC is generated at the dealership and shows that an order was generated. They should be able to produce the DORA not long after but if they don't have it yet it should be there within the next few days.

Cool, thanks for sharing that. I'll follow up with him tomorrow and see if he can provide me with that documentation. Yesterday after he sent me the order summary, he said he was going to put the order in immediately due to time constraints. I called him a little later to verify something and he read me an email where the Ford rep looked it over and OK'd it. I want to gather all that info and put it in a binder for this car. Ive had several performance cars over the years but this is actually the first time Ive ever ordered one, exactly like I want, from the dealer.

I believe I do have the VOC, I'm trying to locate it with the copy of my down payment. The DORA I know I didn't get, next month the order bank opens up for the 22 models. If I still haven't received a VIN# or delivery date by then, then I'm going in and switching my order to a 22 model and they better give me a VOC & DORA

Congrats!! Ironically I just got an agreement in place on a '22 model today. Obviously the order banks aren't open yet. I'm going to have to go away from my metro area to get it. I just passed 6 years without my '14 and it's getting unbearable. I also will be paying a bit of an ADM. (Hell, even Nick is charging ADMs and he's out of '22s.) With the chip shortage asking for sticker is like asking for a handout. They can barely get inventory to sell. Local dealer here wants 20K over on a 1200 mile 2020.

Anti-matter is a pretty gorgeous color! I'm leaning Oil-Slick Blue/Purple.

How did you spec yours?

I just recently saw pics of that Oil Slick Blue/Purple. Its like the Mystic/Mystichrome Cobras of old. Im sure that'll be a rare car, congrats! I did the AM blue, white stripes, recaros, cabon fiber dash, tech pkg and handling pkg. Also got a blue cover. Yeah ADMs are a given now on these things and forget trying to get one in bigger cities. What spec did you go with?

Thanks! Indeed, the mystic and mystichrome cars were quite rare! As for oil-slick I want to see more photos before I make my final pick, Atlas Blue would be my other choice.

Anti-matter looks gorgeous in the sunlight from the pictures I've seen. Ford's got an Anti-matter press car, I read an online article from a journalist who was reviewing it a few days ago. It had white stripes like what you've spec'd. I've been doing quite a bit of Googling for all the reviews of late. I'll see if I can find it again.

Edit: Here it is! Kind of a fluff piece but it's like yours except no Recaros.


I just sat in a 2020 car that had Recaros and they felt really tight on my upper back and shoulders compared with what my '14 car was like with them. So I'm still split on those. I'm not doing stripes this time. Handling pack and possibly Recaros only for me.

I like how you've got yours spec'd. I thought long and hard on the CFHP option but I really don't want to worry about potholes on bad roads here. What are your thoughts there?

Yeah if I were you, Id really check out that color in person before ordering. I went and looked at a Atlas blue F250 last weekend just to see it. Its a great color of blue but its bright and I like more navy blues. Im not sure how durable those rims are to be honest. I know this was taken into account in designing them. I guess it depends on the roads around your area. I just dont think its worth the money for the weight savings. The carbon rims look much better than the stockers no doubt. You could get the CFHP and buy a set of driver rims for everyday roads and use the carbon rims for track events/nicer roaded areas I suppose.

That's awesome! Well, when it shows up and you take that first drive, you're going to think you're in dreamland. LOL!

Well damn. Due to the gas leak at the plant and its closure, my dealer called me today after talking to the Ford rep and my order may or may not be good now. I guess it depends on how long this delay is and I'll just have to wait and see what happens. Bummer
