Shit.... I just realized something that makes this a bit less clear cut to me.... so the video from the truck did not show what exactly happens after dad goes hands on with the home owner, but there is another video that shoes the shooting from the inside of the house (unedited version)...

while I was watching this unedited video, you can clearly see that after the dad goes hands on with the home owner, he manages to sling the home owner pretty far away from himself (dad). After the home owner is swung off from his porch (about 7 yards), the dad made no forward or aggressive move towards the home owner at all.

this WILL put the home owner in a helluva predicament, because although he was legally allowed to shoot the guy during his previous advance and attempt at grabbing the gun, just seconds prior.... at the moment when he actually ended up shooting the guy he appeared to no longer be an eminent threat.....

Fuuuuuu...

I'm having a hard time putting any blame on the dead guy. When it's his legal right to his child and the **** and the leprauchaun are withholding that...

Maybe that's just my feelings but I think the Manlet should fry. Can't withhold a child and expect the father to not respond.

I'd say neither, that looks like 2nd degree murder to me. He didn't need to introduce the gun to the argument, he just made things worse.

I think in most cases, with two people that can't settle disagreements in a civil manner, you would punch each other in the face, swear a bunch and be on your way.

There's a time and place for a firearm, this wasn't one of them.

I agree.

2nd Degree Murder seems applicable here.

yea... he is gonna be charged based on that part eventually.... crazy part is he would have been justified to shoot seconds earlier when he was advancing and reaching for the gun... but not after being flung away and guy not advancing further....

I agree. His small window of it being justified was gone once he was tossed across the yard, landed on his feet and had the opportunity to back away. But I wouldn't be surprised if another "shocking" video comes out for another plot twist. This one was filmed from the very nice tree house... Geez.

I understand the dads angst. My ex moved two hours away. I see my girls every other weekend. I am going to be ****ing footnote in their lives.

That said, in this situation, a mfer walks out with a carbine… I am not going to continue flapping my gums and advance towards him.

I got the impression from the video that tension has been rising for awhile. The father mentions that the ex keeps disobeying the court appointed times. I felt like the father actually had custody of the son. Then the father says she is always trying to keep him from seeing his son. So I honestly have no clue. Either way, a kid lost a parent because of a group of selfish immature adults.

Looking at this video Read seemed quite calm and not really a threat. I maintain this was not a good shooting and Carruth should be charged. Yes I agree Read made a mistake to grab at the gun but the whole thing happened so quickly and he was obviously angered by the actions of his ex-wife.

This incident is nothing like Kyle Rittenhouse and Carruth should go to prison. Apparently he's been bragging about the shooting to his friends and talking about how he washed the blood off the porch. This whole thing is suspicious and I am curious if this was planned ahead of time.

Carruth is quiet in the beginning but after he goes back and grabs the gun he is suddenly all in Read's face and yelling at him. Almost like he wanted him to make a wrong move. Read also knew about the affair Carruth was having with his ex-wife while he was still married to the judge. The judge filed for divorce after the shooting incident. The police department have now handed over the case to another independent entity.

There's a time and place for introducing a gun and this was not it.

Here is an interview with the victim Chad Read's stepdaughter.

I will be surprised if Carruth remains uncharged.

Would have been epic if he grabbed the rifle when they were almost kissing and head butted his little ass, turning the gun on him in the process and hearing cuckboy scream like a little bitch.
