The power (and space) required to generate the sound of 43 odd cup cars, jumbled up at the start (or restart), powering by at close to 200, would not leave any space for an EV drivetrain or batteries.

So this "entertaining sound" is going to be be piped in through the track audio, and probably have a delay just like many of the announcements (and be completely lame by default, compared to the sound "standard" of Daytona or Talladega with ICE).

NO THANKS!!!

If you need me I'll be down at the Hardees at 5:30am having a coffee and a Marlboro Red.

I watched a portion of a Formula-E event last weekend and I noticed the fake, added sound in the broadcast. Made me and my dad laugh.

Yeah, no
NASCAR has been going down hill since they changed from stock bodies to the cookie cutter cars Since when can you get a Toyota Camry with 2doors and a V8? I have yet to see a na 5.8 litre in a factory mustang. And stage racing just sucks. I have been a long time fan but the last 20 years have been generally terrible
Back during the days of TNN and cigarettes/beer sponsoring Nascar, it was almost a rite of passage to watch it every now and again if you liked cars. Even if you weren't a die hard fan or even liked a particular driver, chances are you tuned in even for a bit. Beer ads, fist fights between drivers or crew members, etc..., were all something you might see. That was the definition of a Sunday afternoon up until, IMO, the early 2000's when it started taking a bad turn.

As if NASCAR wasn’t gay enough.
Now they are want to make people watch Jeff Gordon ****ing Bubba Wallace in the ass in the LA Coliseum on top of the Tide Pod #99 EV.

After turning its back on the loyal fans, nascar is irrelevant to me. Haven't watched a race in years. No interest watching a bunch of EVs going around the track. Pitstops will be tires and battery pack swaps. No thanks!

I loved watching nascar back in the 90s. The death of Dale Earnhardt really was the beginning of the end. He would be rolling in his grave today seeing what it turned into.

I know a guy that predicted this two years ago. We laughed our asses off when he said it.

In Star Trek: Deep Space 9, Sisko talks about how sports, television, movies, and other forms of entertainment fell out of favor and went away. He lamented the fact that there was no longer any baseball games or teams. I always thought how that could ever happen? Then the last few years happened and now I know. People stopped caring because everything turned to shit. Electric car racing would be boring as hell.

1995 Cobra R was a 5.8 right?

Sidenote: NASCAR won’t survive this for sure. What a joke.

I went to the race at NHMS last weekend. My sister has a site on "the Hill" in the reserved camping area along the back stretch.

It's official, the attendance is dwindling every year. Every year, I see less and less people sitting in the stands across the track.
They already took 1 race away from NHMS a few years ago, so it's definitely dwindling here at NHMS.

NASCAR has totally forgotten it's audience. I'd sooner spend sunday afternoon cleaning out my navel than watch their garbage.
