I TRIED to live in Paradise [O'ahu] ... off & on... for about 8 years when I was younger...

Yeah, I was one of those guys [TWICE]... But California, for me, was a "pitstop"... visiting family in SoCal then off to Long Beach [shipyard] to drop-off my rides to be shipped off to the 808 State...

OR we were flying back STRAIGHT into LAX and a taxi to Long Beach to pick up my rides... then cruise around SoCal with my HI-plated rides for the week before I "B-lined-it-out-of-town" to the Midwest...


It was exciting dropping off my car & trucks to be shipped off to O'ahu...

SAD when I had to drive to "Sand-Island" [O'ahu] to ship them back to "da Mainland"...

It's not same there [808 State] when it comes to actually BUYING a real house there... I could "rent" all-day-long... I tried and had to give up on paradise.
I wasn't gonna rent or stay in an apartment, I needed my space aka a real home... and back then it was within my reach with my career & funds.

That's why I gave up the island-life and moved back to the midwest.
I still take the family "way-out west" for vacations & play "tourists"... but have to head back home every time unfortunately....

lived there 30 years .... i would say after 2000-2010 it started getting ridiculous. Right now it is beyond unaffordable and the crime is retarded. Along with the retarded politicians. Currently these retards are ruining AZ, TX, and many other states. I am truly thinking about moving farther east, while the housing is on the brink of collapse.

I left Vegas the first of June and moved to western NY state. A lot of Californians moving to Sin City.
