not trying to be a PIA but people were expecting more, including me. im sure it's a great car but it's not competing with current stuff as well as it could...these cars might be selling for 200k after dealer markup...are you picking this over mclaren 570? audi r8v10 plus? used 911 turbo s? just playing devils advocate...

i know it will sell out and be a hot item...so my opinion doesnt really matter.
Thank you for proving my points with your posts. Yes the stock C8 Z06 is faster than the stock C7 Z06. Yes the stock (no drag radials) ZR1 might catch the stock C8 Z06 end track but will be playing catch up from the moment the light turns green ALL the way down track.

I would need to see the 1/8 mile time of the c8 to determine this. But a 7-10mph trap speed difference normally equals gaptism.

Seriously? The C8 Z06 is car lengths ahead of any Stock C7 ZR1 all the way to 1000ft. I don’t need a time slip to know that. The end track mph tells the complete story.

GM didn't build the C8Z as a drag car...

So the moral of the story is a C8 Z gets out of the hole a good bit better than a ZR1, and likely holds a diminishing lead through the 1/4. After that, the extra 85hp takes over.

Not sure why anyone would be surprised by this?

Fastest stock C8 is a ridiculous 10.9 @123, -1500 DA

Let's wait a bit to see what these Z's can do in some of these unicorn conditions that we like to compare against. We'll see a 10.1-2 @ 133-5.

You guys can debate all you want, but I have a hard time being excited about these modern cars that are stacked full of nannies that make up for lack of driver skill and take away from engagement. Set your parameters and hold the steering wheel for 10.5 seconds. Weeeee! The chick in the video was right when she pointed out that she probably just weighs less than the guy who baselined it at 10.6. While we're making concessions like "at least it's not electric, it's still a V8, but but but the computer out-launches X, Y, & Z car...", we continue to lose track of the very foundations that made driving powerful cars fun in the first place.

Hard to believe people aren't impressed by the car. A completely stock N/A car on stock tires running 10.51 is great, especially in a shitty DA. Imagine how fast it'll run in good conditions with more time behind the wheel.

Yeah the C7ZR1 is fast too, but the C8Z is much more repeatable, especially on a road course.

Exactly. Like the new auto-trans Mustang. Gas pedal, steering wheel is all you manage. Wee! Just like bumper cars.
A manual trans car at the track requires a level of actual skill these new road course warriors will never achieve.

Half the glory runs you posted are fall in the Northeast in negative DA. The leaves are off the trees in a couple. I live in NY and still have fully green leaves right now. High temps are in the 50’s. Far from 2200 DA in the middle of the desert in California.

At least compare Apples to Apples.

@ArabianOak stop comparing hero times of your favorite vettes vs the recently released times of the c8z. Guarantee those hero times were NOT run the first several times they were tested.

Im hoping the c8z can run low 10s. Super impressive for NA. Imagine that, Smaller displacement motor with no power adder running similar times as the power adder cars. Thats pretty bad ass.
