Elantra N is the go-to car right now. People are raving about them. They have a shit ton of features for the price along with being able to track the thing in stock form.

If you could ever live with an auto.....2017+ Fusion Sport. 2.7L Ecoboost, AWD and 4 doors. My wife's Edge Sport when tuned was a rocketship. Just mind blowing how hard that thing left from a dig. Remove 800lbs off it and i cannot fathom how quick a Fusion Sport would be with a tune and intercooler.
I love Fusions but would rather have an Accord

Not even in the same league in terms of performance. It also has some trick dampers by Tokico along with all wheel drive for snow days if needed.

The Accord has better resale, better tech available and much better gas mileage. Also if you can find the 2.0L "Earth Dreams" one with a 6 speed its basically a smaller turbo fat Civic Type R sedan. Turbo swap, tune and it would be surprisingly quick.

I do miss my ST very much, I just think the used ones I’m currently seeing are very overpriced. Still keeping and eye out though
Unfortunately I'd say that's going to be how it is since they won't be sold over here anymore. I didn't think I would miss it since I was replacing it with a mustang but I'd almost rather have it back.

For me, a stock Accord fits fine for a DD. I keep the weekend toy for the weekend.

It isn't a performance thing, it's just I've gotten to like the way they look and have plenty of power to merge with traffic.

Buddy of mine bought a 2021 Accord Hybrid and loves it. After riding in it the last year or so to lunch, meetings and site visits i do understand why people love the cars. For me though, i need that extra oomph. Couldn't succumb to just being a daily. Just different tastes for each i guess.

For a daily, definitely Honda or Toyota. I had a 08 si bought new back when they were affordable. Fun car but super slow. Like 15sec slow. I think a supercharger would have made that car great.

As an 11 Sonata owner with the 2.0 GDI Turbo/six Spd auto, I approve of this choice.

The Mazda six speed auto is actually pretty good, especially in sport mode. Not wonky like the A10. Lol. The 2.5 turbo has 252hp and 320tq on premium. Same torque, but 227hp on regular. I had one in a Mazda 6 and loved it. I had it tuned and added a pedal commander and it was quick. Burger has a JB4 for the 3 and is getting good numbers. I love my Mazdaspeed. Wish they had a modern version, but the 3 in AWD with the turbo is pretty sweet.

If used, I second the Focus RS just because. But for a nice DD that will cause zero issues, have premium quality, and be fun as hell I still say the 3.

An update to how my car search is going, found a new civic SI semi local to me and went to check it out. Nice car, but didn’t even speak to a salesman about test driving as I lost interest pretty quick looking at the window sticker….

Funny thing is Acura dealer across the street had an integra a-spec tech with added wheels, carbon fiber spoiler and mirrors plus other add ons for the same money

The fact I’m searching for a manual seems to be hindering the search quite a bit. Nobody seems to want manual anymore so the offerings are slim pickings
