Pretty crazy, record high milk prices and farmers are being forced to dump. Why?

Canada has a bunch of crazy agricultural pricing fixing rules. Damn chicken breast is more expensive than a decent steak.

Dairy and chickens are heavily regulated on the supply side up here. Of course anytime government gets involved there's going to be inefficiencies. I still remember my parents had a "quota" at the local creamery for our 3 milk cows. Those quotas were highly sought after and sold for big $$ because without it, you couldn't sell your milk/cream commercially.
