  • Do you know or can you check on the pan and tell me what the 5 digit part number is? It should be on the passenger side rear sump, scribed on the outside. I bought my pan through R&C, which William told me he designed and R&C builds for him. When I called Canton and talked to them about it, they said the pan I have is one of their original pans and was NEVER specific to R&C. William insists there is no chance I could have received the wrong pan, but hearing as you started with one Canton and changed to another Canton.. anything is possible. I believe the mounts on the engine will only go one way and cannot be swapped. CR is using a custom Moroso pan. Thank you for your help!

looking at it again, the engine mounts are just sitting too high. You likely have a oil pump/oil pan/block size? issue. My engine sits lower than that. I am running a vic jr, fast throttle body efi combo. With your s/c set up, i haven't done the research to know what fits but i would suggest modeling after a classic recreations car. Those guys are definately using the right parts.
i am using the same canton pan from rod and custom. Did you buy the canton pan from rod and custom? I tried a similar canton canton pan first but it didnt fit either. Rod and custom only recommends and sells one pan for this setup, THEIR CUSTOM CANTON OIL PAN. The front of the pan is angled different from the normal stock # that canton offers. Looking at your pics, I see you have different motor mounts. Do realize with Rod and customs mounts, the sides arent the same. maybe you have the left and right side backwards which moves the engine either forwards or backwards. Hope this helps, I'm not a guru. But when I have questions, I call willie and r&c or either rich at MTF. They always have the answer. I'm sure you know these guys.
Hi, I am installing the same driveline as you are in our 68 Mustang. I have a 351w, R&C suspension, TKO600 and I am having trouble finding intakes that will clear the hood. I am using the Canton oil pan sold through R&C. I tried the Ford pan that allowed for more clearance but had to switch to the Canton because the Ford pan did not clear the oil pump. Now the Canton pan hit the rack and the mounts had to be raised. What oil pan are you using? I am using a hood that is very similar to yours (Maier Eleanor hood). Here is a link to more pictures of my problem. TKO600/Rod and Custom/351W Help! - Vintage Mustang Forums

    Thank you!
