03 Cobra Speed Sensor Location ???

While you gents are 100% correct, I believe the OP meant his MPH gauge. Maybe he called it a “tach” as a generic term, but meant MPH gauge….?

03 Cobra Speed Sensor Location ???

VSS is located on the driver side of the transmission towards the output shaft. You’ll see the large reverse lockout solenoid towards the top. The VSS is under that. Will be a connector with 2 wires going to it.

Reverse lockout question with Holley EFI

That’s actually a good point about the outputs. I’ll have to check to see if I have any left. I think they’re all used up, but definitely will check that out. If not, I’m gonna go with the Samoco module. I just feel better about it performing like OEM. My wife likes to drive the car every once...

Reverse lockout question with Holley EFI

Great question wings. To be honest I just went with what I know. My drag car (92 foxbody) has the Holley Dominator. So for me it was just go with what I know. Holley EFI has always been great for me, so I just went with it. Also I had some wiring gremlin in my injector harness so I liked how the...

Reverse lockout question with Holley EFI

Are u saying it’s basically not needed at all? I was thinking of this too. But the last thing I wanna do is screw up my tranny when I can spend $125 and install a legit controller to handle it. I’ve already spent probably 20K on rebuilding this car. What’s another $125? Haha I’m hesitant to...

Reverse lockout question with Holley EFI

Gents, thanks for your time. I think both of you guys have good points. My first issue is I don’t have the ecm to power the RL solenoid, correct? So the solution to that would be but an aftermarket controller, wire a switch in, wire it from the brake light or modify the spring, correct...

Reverse lockout question with Holley EFI

Ok, so yes I’ve searched about this topic, but just asking for clarification. Due to a previous owners shoddy wiring I have given up on the factory wiring in my car and installed a Holley Terminator X EFI system. My question is in regards to revers lockout. It is my understanding that the...

need help on best clutch to buy

Really? I’ve used the CF DF clutch in 3 of my Foxbody cars around the 500-550hp range. I loved those clutches for that power level and never had a single issue with them. Now, I will say that I always had loud exhaust and usual LT headers (1 car had shorties). Maybe that’s why I never heard any...

    Engine Management Technology Debate

An old Foxbody of mine had a manual choke. Just had to pull a knob, turn the key and pretty much slowly push said knob back. Never even thought about it, let alone thought it was an inconvenience. This was a 3 season semi-daily car though. I personally liked the manual choke too, I felt more...

    21 badlands test drive

Oh for daily driving and practicality, the Bronco any day, I definitely agree with that. I just really like those Cherokees. I’m a Toyota guy, myself. Had a ‘88 w/ 38” Iroks, dual transfer case, 5.29 gears, etc….my top speed ever was 52mph going down a large hill. Haha, that think would crawl up...

    Belt measuring help

String is your best bet. Then buy a few belts right around what size you measured. Save yourself some aggravation and just buy a few different sizes. 3-4 trips back to the parts store gets old.

I got codes....I got codesssss...and my car is a hoe, my car is a hoe....

MSD components always gave me issues with my Foxbodys over the years. I’d suspect the ignition box, as stated above.

advice on how to proceed - Built 4v or coyote swap

Gen 2 coyote if you can afford it. That’s what I’d do. Keep in mind, either way you go, it’s going to cost you more than you think. Probably a lot more. Ask me how I know.
