New project - 1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe

Haven’t done too much lately, just some bodywork from the previous owner backing a gooseneck into the c pillar. It had a nice deep crease, so bad we had to end up doing a few relief cuts to flatten the metal out. Also had to shrink the sheet metal from working it too much, it was oil canning a...

Silica blasted the ATR header and decided to spray it with cerakote “piston coat”. Going to try and get that done this weekend. Also scored a cool old school ATR pit bull muffler to go with the custom exhaust system down the road. Muffler came off a GMC Typhoon, 3” in/out.

The only thing worse than listening to a person talk who paid over MSRP is physically looking at the retarded mutant faced dealership employees that helped assist in the nonsense.

They’ve been machined down to fit, .005” clearance between wheel and top of calipers, about .010” without the powder .. rotors are 14” turned down to 13.750” but an off the shelf 13.5 would do just fine but what’s the fun in that.

Updates! Lol. I’ve been busy, got the radiator in and decided to delete the ac to de-clutter the engine bay a bit. Found a rare ATR turbo header that has a modified with a 38mm v-band waste gate provision. Going to blast and carakote. Decided to go with new front rotors (slot only) then...

New project - 1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe

Got a decent amount of work done today due to a friend offering to help out for a few hours. Got the cobra booster fully installed, the master and prop are on as well all the hard lines. Need to swap out the braided lines to the calipers for some longer ones at work tomorrow, then I’ll bleed...

New project - 1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe

The rest of the foam is pretty decent for what I’m using it for, every seat holds its shape nicely now that I’ve fixed the bad bolster. They are the high back sport seat from the fox body mustangs so full replacement re-pop foam is available. I considered going that route but at that point I’d...

Yes factory wheels and tires (Nitto terra grapplers), they updated the wheels for 2021. 100% stock ‘21 TRD Pro. I’ll eventually go with an aftermarket suspension lift once i feel like the factory fox shocks have lived a decent life. Going to try and keep this one forever.

    New T.V. Recommendations

My friend works for a tv lift company, Nexus21. Everyone that works there is a tech nerd and he said the place is split 50/50 on tv’s half the employees have Samsung and half TCL. He paid $2500 for his sammie and really liked it until he came over and saw my TCL and said he can’t tell a...

New project - 1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe

Got the cobra booster almost set in place, Still need to get it to drop another inch, problem is that I’m trying to tuck the wiring harness under the booster and space is limited. I think if I can free up a little more slack from the harness I can get it to drop where I need it. Also, removed...

New project - 1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe

While avoiding more difficult tasks I decided to dye the interior fabric. The “Raven” color code was looking a bit more like lapis, I used dupli-color interior vinyl and upholstery spray. I steam cleaned the seats, let them dry overnight, masked and hit them with three coats while brushing the...

New project - 1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe

Pulled the Teves II system out and getting ready to install the 93 Cobra booster and Baer master soon. I need to figure out how I’m going to trim the obsolete connectors from the harness and tuck the harness under the new booster.
