So here's the deal, if I can let go of my car for this price or very close, I will. If not, i'm ordering brembo cobra R kit, some bilsteins, and corbeaus and keeping it forever or 2 years whatever works out best.
Mod List:
Vortech V2-SQ trim installed last december, new kit not pieced...
I dont really want to sell it but gas is getting up there and i'm being forced to sell my beater. Here are some pics, description is below.
1996 Cobra red on Tan
Stock internals, 78k on the clock

370 rwhp, 320 rwtq (mustang dyno)

I took the car to the track, only got 2 runs in. The first one sucked, I wont even post the times, here's the second.
13.4 @ 110, 2.3 60ft
I had to do alot of throttle modulation in second cause it just wanted to spin and spin. Felt like a crappy run but the mph was good.
Think I...
Anyone have their fiberglass hoods repaired after a run in w/ someone elses bumper? Someone fender bended me and the hood kinda cracked. Does anyone do this type of repair?
I see alot of you people bitching about skinny tires on the new Cobra. Open a freshman physics book, educate yourself, and you'll find out that surface area does not affect static friction. So please, bitch about the awful weight ratio, but quit talking about the tires. 255's will hook just as...
Water pump and/or crank. Both are necessary but if you only have one please speak up anyway. This is urgent, i'm knee deep in my s-trim install and I just found out for some reason my car has a gigantic water pump pulley on it and the wrong crank pulley, and I start school next week. I need to...
Anyone got some? I'm installing mine right now and I love references. This is definitely more of a pain in the butt than i thought it would be. Also, does anyone have any tips for me?
I'm doing:
Vortech V-1 S-trim tuner kit, no fmu, chip, etc
stock internals
42# injectors
lightning MAF...
How much did you pay for your kits and where did you get them?
I plan on getting a custom tune so what extra fuel/ignition components am I going to need to purchase? Would I be better off (running about 8 psi) sticking with stock fuel components or upgrading MAF and injectors and the like...
First of all, the condition of my braking system:
Mostly fine, squeaks when cold, probably the nature of the pads. Rotors are slightly warped, high speed braking=shimmey. Wheel bearing(s) shot, squeaks at low speeds. I got new pads and rotors from MM (woohoo upgrading). So I've got all those...
I ordered:
Diamon Pistons (5cc, .020 over)
Eagle H-Beam rods
Main and Rod Bearings
Oil Pump Gears
ARP Main studs
ARP Head Studs
Woohoo!! I'm excited. Put me back about 2100. Here's the part of the thread where I inquire...
Where can I get slightly thicker than stock head gaskets...
Here is my tentative list of what to buy to rebuild my 4.6. Am I leaving anything out (besides oil pump gear)?

I noticed my pads in the front are dangerously low, so i'm going to change them. Here's the questions:
What good pads can I buy locally (ie no mail order). I've heard Hawk HP... anything else? Anyone have any experience?
Is anything extra-ordinary required when getting the rotors turned...
had catalytic converters, but under WOT switched to straight through (bypass cats) automatically. It would be high quality materials and electronics, weight only slightly more than a catted X-pipe, and you would have the legality as well as the no-cat scream and pull when you mash on the loud...
What would be better, porting my stock heads or switching to Mach 1 heads and cams, and using 99/01 cobra intake?
Prices on each? Any and all info greatly appreciated.
What do you recommend replacing during a rebuild? I'm not trying to get fancy, just want to build something that will stand up to a mid-boost S-trim for a long time. Here's my list (currently have a working motor)
Rods
Pistons
Gaskets, rings, bearings, freeze plugs
heads & mains bolts
oil...
mine idles at about just over 600 when warm. The car shakes a little bit when idling... is this what is supposed to happen? How do your cars idle?
Dino
Does such a thing exist?
I was thinking a simple bottom end rebuild (1700 from SHM) + Vortech SQ-Trim set up for a stock application might work really well. It wont make 500 rwhp or anything, but 400 rwhp+ stock top end to maintain driveability and longevity... What do ya'll think?
Apparently they are some sort of device that blocks out radio interference? Anyone know anything about this? Apparently they fail prematurely and can cause upper RPM misfire.... which is my problem. Any info is appreciated.
