I think its a perfect example of hopelessly lost.
Very plain looking
Overpriced
Little to no grass roots connection with the original vehicle.
Everybody loved the original 5.0 Explorer, lets start with that!
Nice curve. These cars are not bad. I just bought a 1320 and I love it.
That said, I will never give up my gt500. These cars could really use at least 500 wheel to satisfy the itch that one inevitably gets after purchase.
Just need a cam that adds 75 wheel and still averages 19mpg. Like asking...
So it's been a while from my last post, but It's been building up!
My last muscle purchase was a 2012 leftover gt500 for 48k. Will never part with it and I have been waiting for the new gt500 or other offerings.
After seeing the price points and options I'm saying it may be time to jump...
My local guy indicated the dealer expects to make up their losses on them. I.E premiums 10k plus.
I said the hell with it and will wait and see like the rest of us.
Yes I'm about to do a refresh on my white 2012 gt500. It has some fade and is in need of tlc. My 5 year old ran up the hood and roof and now I have little heal dings on the roof.
I still have little veins running down my face from when I found out.
Ecoboost
Look at the name. This implies cheap and fuel efficient to me.
The highest version should still be cheaper than an entry level 5.0
Or cmon who's the enthusiast that's going to choose the 4 cylinder ?
Yeah I like, but man that engine bay is ugly and crowded. I know it's been talked about so I'm not trying to beat a dead horse.
I agree totally with the weight thing. Why not do what the atv and bikes are doing and integrate a hybrid aluminum frame. Steel at stress points and aluminum...
not trying to being sarcastic make sure its not a track car with removed mods is all.
drive shaft joints worn to hell, 2nd gear grinds to death, clutch may slip a bit. Check for a previous tune, if so what was it ?
spending big money get it checked is all
LFP WHIPPLE 800HP Mustang | Lebanon Ford Performance
1. starts at 39k plus some here and there
2. Put shocks so soft that you need a skid plate under the rear bumper so the gas tank does not ignite,
3. Don't mod further, leave it alone!
Just watching this thread with some interest as I ponder my next build. Gotta love when a guy puts up the data instead of just talking.
To be honest I never thought the power glides were very street able, but these guys seem to think 3 speeds are something to consider. Wonder how they would work...
I wouldn't buy one as a daily driver personally. These cars are good tech, but I don't think you are buying a workhorse motor like the 5.0 or 5.4. It's not a slight, just an observation.
Is that a pic near the old six flags?
Never know I could of done battle with that thing on the way to the beach one Friday night some time in the late 80's.
Very clean!
