Good to hear of your experience with the StopTech drilled and slotted 1-piece rotors, Tom. I intend to install and bleed the brakes myself. Never did that before but have decided that this task is well within my capabilities to accomplish and learn something new.
For the earlier question, stock...
It has been a while since I posted pictures of my 2014 Shelby. After several years of searching, my final customization will be realized --- painted front and rear calipers. They will be Brembo red with white lettering. I also decided to go with a full rotor and pad upgrade --- StopTech drilled...
Similar to RBB above, I elected to utilize a mechanical boost gauge which required threading the supplied plastic vacuum tube all the way through the firewall directly into the triple SOS pillar pod housing the Autometer boost gauge. The angle was tricky because the vacuum line must not be...
Not to belabor the point, but initially the NHTSA did seem to have a regional prioritization recall on the passenger side airbag. Unlike the driver airbag recall which was unequivocal, the passenger airbag recall seems to have morphed to the recent full replacement including additional year...
I just received my recall notice for my 2014 GT500 yesterday as well. It would seem that the NHTSA got involved and turned this recall from a "geographical" based recall (southern states were issued the recall, northern states were not part of the recall), to ALL affected year GT500's are now...
For what it's worth, the calibrator/tuner skill set is everything. I can't stress that point enough. For every possible supercharger / throttle body / CAI combination, someone will have had a horrible experience with said combination and another someone will have zero issues and rave about the...
I swear this was discussed somewhere in the 2013-2014 Shelby GT500 forums in the past, but search is not finding the post.
I have a Whipple 4.0L supercharger (WK-200240P W245AX GT500 CRUSHER KIT) on my 2014 GT500. I believe this model supercharger takes Whipple Supercharger Oil part number...
Speaking of colored calipers, I did a search recently regarding any vendor/company offering colored front Brembo calipers (and the Ford rear calipers) for my 2014 GT500 that are completely assembled (e.g. pistons are installed and ready to be assembled to the car). Specifically, I would like to...
Similar to 1 Alibi 2, I have Kooks 1-7/8-inch headers and Kooks "Green" catted H-pipe (not an X-pipe), mated to OEM mufflers. I personally like the sound of an H-pipe over an X-pipe, and this Kooks setup allows me to pass New York State emissions inspections without an issue and without fear of...
2014 GT500 Convertible ... had to wait until I could renew Photobucket with a reasonable plan with 3rd party hosting privileges. Just did so ...

I ordered my 2014 GT500 Convertible with every available option, taking delivery on 4/20/13. I waited a long time for this car, and it is never being sold. It will go to one of my children, or I'll take it with me to wherever the afterlife is.
This car ALWAYS attracts attention. At our local...
Does anyone have any comments/experience with the SVE GT350 replica wheels in the 20x10 size? There does not seem to be much uptake in these wheels, but to my eye they come closest to the OEM GT350 wheels (the original OEM GT350 wheels are very expensive at ~$1,000 apiece, and are staggered as...
For the front Alcoa wheels, they are 20x9 with 265/30R/Z20 MPSS tires. The rear Alcoa wheels are 20x10 with 285/30R/Z20 MPSS tires. My Alcoa wheels are "standard" size (meaning no modifications).
EDIT: So sorry. Tires are 35R profile height, not 30R.
Does anyone know if there is a vendor that sells new, OEM complete GT500 painted caliper kits? I don't want a Wilwood or other kit, just a painted/powder coated "bolt-on" replacement caliper kit (complete with pistons) in red (front and rear - with the "brembo" logo on the front calipers).
I...
With all of the Shelby's coming out of storage of late (mine included), I thought I would relate my experience with a check engine light situation not 10 miles into the season's inaugural cruise.
I put my 2014 Shelby GT500 'vert into storage in my own garage in December for the winter, filling...
I just registered the other day for the 2014 Carlisle Ford Nationals in the 2013-2014 Shelby GT500 Convertible Class (#112). Additionally I registered for the Ford Parade which is limited to 400 cars. I also joined Team Shelby Northeast Region as a club affiliation.
Being new to the Shelby...
