I see. I did get that vibe from the Shelby America stuff, I didn't realize it was connected to him other than them using his name.
Either way, if an order falls through or you get an allocation not spoken for and want to sell for sticker, let me know.
Was he? I never looked into those kits, I was never interested in them. I could imagine how expensive they were. Stuff like that never interested me, unless it was truly something from the factory that got all the same R&D as the rest of the car during development. The Shelby America stuff kind...
It’s insane, I wish it was illegal. Basically legal price gouging. People paying the absurd mark ups and them being allowed to do it is why it exists. I remember seeing a video of the 2013 GT500 development and Carroll Shelby talking about how the working man should be able to afford this car...
I know he lied. Drove me nuts, and I can’t say anything because I’m not in the dealership business. All I was able to say is “So you’re telling me, Ford is suggesting to sell the car for 20K over the MANUFACTURER suggested retail price?” He stumbled a bit, but held his ground.
Last dealership I spoke with said Ford is suggesting selling these cars for 20K over sticker and that the dealerships have to pay over sticker to get them...
Yup it’s insane. I feel horrible for younger people trying to start their lives right now. Opportunities for those starting out is near non existent. It’s not uncommon for homes to go for 70K over asking where I live, and the prices are already astronomical.
Yes, I am frustrated. I get it, I'm not knocking them for doing it, it's just frustrating because a mark up is going to be what keeps an otherwise somewhat obtainable car out of reach for me. Just not meant to be I guess.
I'm hoping things calm down for the 2022 model year at some point. It's so frustrating, they mark up these cars when there are no problems or shortages. This is like throwing gasoline on a flame. I'll continue to search and wait until either the right deal comes along, or they're all gone. I...
I do agree, the Hellcat motor is a monster in many ways. I’ve loved the Hellcats since they came out. Only thing diverting me from the Hellcat is it’s age. It’s been out for a while, something new must be coming down the tubes relatively soon, and the dealerships still don’t want to play much...
I’ll probably never take it to a track besides the drag strip, so if I do go the GT500 route, it’ll be the base version, not the track pack. For me it’s either Hellcat Challenger or GT500. The same can be said about the ZL1 not even being the same kind of car and being track focused, yet it’s...
A lot of determining factors as to whether I buy this or not. One being price (obviously) which we don't know what it is yet, and no way am I paying ADM. The other is my finances at the time. Just started a career change, so I'm not totally sure where I'll be at the time of the cars release, but...
If I'm lucky enough to be able to swing one of these as I was with the 2014 GT500, I'm definitely not modifying it this time. Somehow, I always end up regretting it. Especially if this car traps over 130 mph as rumored, I'm definitely not touching a thing. I keep seeing Youtube videos claiming...
Needs 798 horsepower, trap 140 mph in the 1/4, run the nurging burger in under 7 minutes, stop from 60 mph in 50 feet and ride like a cloud when not in it.
Obviously just joking. My opinion is it will handle about the same/ever so slightly worse than the ZL1, out accelerate/out power the ZL1...
I agree. And like you, I am also frustrated by how late Ford is to the party with the new GT500. Hopefully it's just a case of "good things come to those who wait."
In short, yes. It was taken after hours by an employee of the body shop, he took it for a joy ride and blew the clutch up through the bell housing. Tried to get the autobody shop to buy the car but they weren't having it, they just wanted to pay for the damages caused by the employee and the 3...
