Hey - I was scrolling thru pics of your beautiful car and noticed the shipping spacers were still installed... My dealer prepped my car and missed these it took me 2 months of pounding before I found a thread where a guy bought a used GT350R and found them still in it. I guessed that was part...
Even opening the engine, you won't be able to say if the tune caused the issue... It's just that the plasma lining is so thin and if the tune causes the engine to misfire or run too lean or too rich then these conditions can cause ring/cylinder damage very easily. Even bad gas or too low...
Ahhh, I forgot you tuned your car too... Many (most) of the Oil Consumption issues I am aware of seem to correlate to tuned cars. I wanted to flex fuel mine but I no longer have confidence it would not destroy the engine.
I have a fear of tunes, not roll bars. The concern is was there a tune to go with the bar and how hard was the car run. 1500 miles is not much and you can tell a lot looking the tires, brakes, paint, and quality of the mods. The key for me is that the dealer is willing to confirm they would...
Is it 65k they are asking? I feel like 65k for a 1500 mile car is pricey and if they are giving you 4k under your value then 65k starts to seem too pricey.
There is not many new 19R's and 20's start to get expensive again... but if you cant close that gap then I'd negotiate one like this...
My car has 4k miles, mostly track work, been mod'd, and I'd very much like to be the second owner for it... not for sale.
So for the right price I'd gladly buy a car that's been tastefully mod'd. Have them check if it has ever been tuned and certify it hasn't, perform a compression check...
Ignition cycles are reset when the computer is flashed, so if you see a number like 100, then it implies someone recently flashed the FW. This is a metric Ford uses to refuse to warranty engines and useful to know if you're buying used. It's not exhaustive proof of tune, b/c Ford may have...
Being a guy that just repaired frame fails on mine, I'd have no quams about buying a buyback where the price reflect proper repairs.
Listen to cold first start like 13cobra suggests and if it rattles, make them diagnose it. I'd request they provide the cylinder compression check report, lots...
It's best with 19 and newer cars... works good, looks good, easy. Pricey, but those strikers are nice.
Pre 19's need the newer core support and that blows out the cost. Too bad the GT500 core support was not available when I was replacing mine... it includes the core support w/strikers...
These are completely functional latches intended to eliminate the hood flap when going over 130mph. I bought ep-hp006-bl latches in June planning to use them some way since the hood flapping really bothered me. My car is a 17, but after my crash the core support replacement part was the newer...
Here are the strikers and underhood of the latch. I used a syringe to inject some JB Weld between the skin and bottom sheet metal in the hood after picking out some of the foam deadener material and still have to make some plates to use to flatten and distribute the pin loads on the underside...
Cosmetically certainly the splitter would look better if it more closely matched the canards, but it is the stock R splitter which is decent sized, so the canards just scoop out a lot of air. I think the pressure zones created will function as desired, better brake cooling, less turbulence and...
The GT500 hoodpins fit the QL assembly, but I'm missing something in the core support to screw the pin assembly into... Will call my parts guy tomorrow to try and figure that out. The height looks good and I'm going to the bodyshop to pic up my old hood to drill it before cutting the new one...
Are those the Ricky Recardo seats?
Regardless, a new one is a new one and can't really go wrong if it is discounted. If you don't buy it tell us where it is...
I just ordered the hood pins for the replacement CF core support they used in my repair... It's the same as the 19 and 20 and shared with the GT500, 400ea.
I considered buying the GT500 hood and putting it on my 350 to avoid putting holes in my hood and getting the additional air through the...
Just installed a DSS 1 piece CF driveshaft in mine. In third gear it feels like it pulls on the edge of traction all the way to redline. I put long tubes and x-pipe in at the same time, so might have a little more umph from those mods too... I like it.
It is sensitive to position as there...
I agree it's a very compelling car, but I doubt you will ever see a 40k z51 that has any warranty left, and by the time the car is 40k, you will see yourself on every corner, the Z06 will by out with real power, you will face stiff competition on road courses by GT500's, ZL1's, 911's...
Times are great, some cars make a fast time easier than others and I think the C8 chassis is too good for ONLY 495HP, demands a Z06 pkg.
When push comes to shove, today I prefer GT500 over C8 z51, and that all said, if I was actually shopping today I think I would still get another GT350R.
