The time has come to sell my 2012 Mustang GT Convertible that has been tastefully modified and never taken to the track or beat upon. This car was built to be totally drivable when you want to cruise with the top down and also to be able to stay ahead of pretty much any other car it meets...
For Sale : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1968-Ford-Mustang-Coupe-Unicorn-Pride-Parade-Car-4-7-Litre-V8-/122593063870
I know - I violated rules by not putting in a for sale forum... and for not posting a picture of my name with it... I'm hoping these transgressions will be forgiven... (the ebay...
OK - I find this topic interesting - but it's also full of conversations of just numbers and not a lot of consistency and real data to support claims and to compare against. Yelling "My IAT2's are 120*F" is a bit useless if you live in Alaska and the guy you are yelling at lives in Arizona and...
I'm still mid-tune building on my 2012 vert with the Whipple 2.9 and 93 octane that passed a 2500-4000 WOT pull the other day in logs...
So today on the way home from a car show with the top down I came to a stop on a 3 lane wide freeway off ramp. I hear a car behind me revving. Look in the...
I'm being a good community member here and passing on the imperial shit ton of learning I have had over the last few days in discussions with Gates... This info in blower independent... rib count independent... but all about belts for all blowers. And yes, this is all about Gates belts - and...
First time out with the new/upgraded tensioner...
Of course, had wife in the car cause it was a nice day... 10 miles. 40mph roll, 3/4 throttle punch... Boom.
Anyone have this issue (not breaking your car with your wife in it but the belt issue)?
Was tensioned about 75% of travel.
I did...
Asking $425 - shipping anywhere in the lower 48 INCLUDED in that price - just need to pay me someway that PayPal won't scoop 3% off the top!
I hate to sell these things... they sound AWESOME!
Bought them last August and car went into storage in October... they have about 800 miles on them, no...
Need some thoughts on this. Totally could be me... Maybe it's because this world of supercharged cars is new to me and I oversold my personal expectations ... but I do have a history with cars and building them and something seems "wrong", or at least "not right"...
I have a new Whipple 2.9 on...
OK - I have admitted before - tires and trim (car plastic bits, for those with a predilection for the naughty) are two things I'm just not car wise on...
After installing the "go fast" parts under the hood - I'm now seeing why I should also be installing the "stop fast" parts - so I'm digesting...
Last year I bought a Kooks Cat back exhaust because I really liked the sound on my 2012. (This one : https://www.kooksheaders.com/exhaust-system-kit-8243.html )
Now the car has a Whipple on it and the setup has developed a bit of drone at 1800-ish. Basically 6th on the highway at 65... classic...
I just took my newly installed Whipple 2.9 Front Feed (stage 3 with the BAP, big TB, 3.75 pulley) out for the maiden voyage and a few short trips on my 2012 GT Auto and have totally NOT pushed things yet, babying the new install and working up to see what it can do.
One thing I have noticed is...
Any 2011+ Whipple 2.9 front feed folks with an automatic deal with the fact / solve the issue of the transmission cooler lines and the Whipple belt tensioner seem to occupy the same position is space time?
Admittedly I know very little about the transmission cooler lines and the funky clip...
Anyone seen / used / considered this?
http://www.lethalperformance.com/whipple-2011-2015-mustang-f150-5-0l-oil-catch-can.html
It's like a catch can... but not a catch can... but designed to replace a catch can... build by Whipple for 2.9L Whipple's?
Thoughts?
I mean it's gotta be good...
I successfully completed the gauge swap in my 2012 and LOVE it - for anyone considering it - TOTALLY worth it - you look at the gauge every time you are in the car! 2013 GT500 LCD Gauge Cluster Install into a 2011 GT500 With Track Apps and LC
Anyhow I have a question as a result of the project...
So I'm looking forward here... Hang in there as this is a bit of what if post...
As soon as I get my Whipple on top the engine later this month - there's this likelihood I'll want to change from the stock Whipple tune to a Lund / AED tunes - because, here's my thinking, while I plan to run on...
This is a appendix to the post telling you how to upgrade your 2011 or 2012 Cluster to the Track Pack enabled cluster from a donor 2013 or 2014 if your happen to have an automatic.
The gist of this is - when you do the PCM flash to 2013/2014 to get the sensor data onto the bus - your 2011/2012...
Specifically I'm looking for the pinout of the dash side clock spring switch... I have the 2011 schematics and they are not matching the actual connector in the steering column that plugs into the clock spring switch.
I have the schematics on order (as of this morning) but would love to have...
I have the VCM2... I have Ford IDS... I have a VIN for the 2012 Premium just like mine (except, well, Premium)... I have my Base VIN... and I have the ACM (Audio Control Module) AS-BUILT codes for both cars)... so I'm CLOSE.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for how do I...
Inspired by @Paul. and his build thread - I'm gonna start mine here. Don't expect a ton of action tho for the next couple of months as it's January here in NY and I'm not starting on the heavy motor stuff for a few months.
Still - my car is a 2012 Base GT Convertible - the only option on the...
Dunno if @12V Guy is around or if others that have done this before can help... the threads on this don't exactly give a clear answer... all the examples I have seen are for cars with SYNC.
Anyone know if this kit / Maestro RR / ADS surround will work on a Base w/o SYNC?
If yes - then the...
Subject says it all... I have been reading in another forum about the process of changing the PCM revision and pushing AS BUILT codes into a 2013 ABS module and other stuff to get the 13/14 gauge cluster that has track apps and digital dials retrofitted into a 2012 base GT... thought I'd ask...
how do you do it?!
Been reloading for years and I hate flipping 100 primers on the tray and then manually pausing the stupid little rubber tip over each one... you hand cramps and it takes forever.
I tried one of the Hornady primer tube loaders that looks like a red plastic 1911 and it sucked...
Just thought I'd fish for more opinions here since it's always a lot of fun to help other people spend money!
2012 GT is an automatic summer driver convertible, very very occasional trip with a car club to the track, mash on the throttle at street lights and wave at Corvettes kind of driver...
