You bet. I have the 150mm throttle body. I can almost fit both my fists in it. I know that alot of people complained about idle issues with the 150mm but a little bit of time on the laptop and a screw driver you can make it work. I would go with the 150mm if you have the option to feed this...
Nice. The 6.40 was on 20 psi. I havnt ran it yet up at 24. As far as rearend goes I am rollin with a solid axle with 31 spline trutack with 3.55’s and a T-56 Magnum. Wheel hop is no longer my enemy. I finally switched to bias ply tires to so 5’s and 9 are happening if I find a driver mod.
Good results man. I am swapping to some different exhaust cams and changing my centerlines around and going to see how that does. It has been 6.40 @ 116 with a 1.56 60’. Trying to get that 60 down and get this bitch in the 5’s
I havn’t hooked up the MS3 yet. Been running great and kicking ass with stock ECU. As for now the MS3 is just sitting on the shelf. I will update if I ever make the switch.
I had this set up on my 01’ Cobra. It was the trinity TVS from a 13’ and had the SCJ mono blade mechanical throttle body. Made 788 rwhp at 18 psi. It was super fun but I have since moved on to a gen 5 whipple. I did have to modify a couple things to fit with the TVS vs the m122 but it was easy...
As far as inconsistencies from pump to pump goes an ethanol content sensor can take care of your worries. The pumps are normally pretty consistent in a given climate. The content sensor will allow you to switch between tunes with confidence knowing what fuel you have. Just have your tuner change...
Throw me in the upgrade the blower club. Boost is always there and its always fun. Plus you have all the room you want for more spray like you said. Car would be a beast and fun with a 2.3L TVS and spray. More Whipples and probably even some KB's will be for sale soon once more Gen 5 Whipple...
There is a comparison on this forum from Lethal Performance. There are a couple guys on a facebook group that are switching from gen4 to gen5. I think the Gen5 blowers just started showing up at peoples door steps as I waited 4 months for mine. Results will be plenty here soon. I can attest...
I am running 9-10* at idle. I have not been able to hook up the cruise control cable yet though. It seems to want to keep the throttle body open a little bit. I think it is just my cable needing adjustment. My TPS counts are at 191, IAC duty cycle is 37%. It took a couple driving cycles and...
Nice. Looks good man. I log the fuel temp PID in SCT right now and that takes it off the rail from the pressure sensor. I will probably lose that though when I switch to the MS3 PnP though. Can you still log the pressure drop and fuel rail temp with the MS3 your using?
I think either location...
I put a ethanol content sensor right off the pressure regulator. Works great and I have a tune set up for 93, E25, E35, E50, E60, E65, E70, E85. on my handheld now. Takes all the guess work out. I even have a E25 and E35 "transition tank" tune. I could get by with probably only 4 of those but...
I run E65 in my car and don't try to go above E70 to keep my fuel system happy as far as duty cycles. Car makes 906rwhp on E65 with no problem. Most of your spark will be in by E60 anyways. E85 will help cool the combustion chamber better with the higher ethanol content.
My old TVS set up made...
Well... The torque gain at less boost is a good place to start looking for an example. Considering I have more torque at less boost compared to a smaller blower tells me I have more cylinder pressure right there. You are cramming more air in the same amount of time (valves open) into the same...
You bet!! She probobly could handle more timing on the 17psi pulley but that was my last pull on the dyno just for a little comparison with the TVS. I have always been and will continue to be conservative with my timing. I keep it pretty soft low in the rpm range. This Gen 5 will build...
It came with the 3.625" upper stock. That pulley with a 2lb lower made 17psi on my motor. So on a stock 4.6L based on my experience with other blowers, the 3.625" and stock lower would be around 19 psi on a 4.6L. That would be a safe bet.
My set up has seen a consistent 4-5 lb lower boost per pulley set up on the TVS. It makes along the lines of the GT-500 5.4L motors as far as boost and pulley ratio go with other blowers.
The throttle body is awesome. I had the SCJ Mono blade on my other set and the Whipple Roval throttle body was easier to get set up. It is very street able. Power delivery is pretty linear feeling, especially for how big it is. It just took me some work on the laptop with the tune and it idles...
