Need some help with a 96’ Cobra with QuickTime Bell housing and TKO600. When I first purchased the car the previous owner thought the transmission needed rebuilt. I discovered the firewall adjuster was installed backwards. I flipped it, and installed an OEM clutch cable… car drove and...
About a year ago I purchased new NT555 tires for my Cobra with 18x9 Cobra R wheels. I was worried about rub and bought 245/40/18 for the front, but they are too narrow and I hate how it looks. What would be a better size NT555 for the front wheels that would fit better (width)?
The only things that stood out to me were:
1. The Bank 2 02 Sensor data it seemed consistently low across the board compared to Bank 1. I believe it may be an exhaust leak at the header to midpipe connection.
2. Cylinder 5 and 7 logged a single misfire each.
3. The Knock Sensor Retard Limit...
So on my lunch break I pulled the blower off the car, pretty sure sending to Procharger is the right choice.
This was as soon as I removed the blow off valve section of charge pipe from the P-1SC, you can see the oil running down the side. Keep in mind the only thing before the blower is an...
I just got an email from their tech quoting $1,698 plus any service or repair fees which will include an inspection fee of $125. I figured the P1X might be a good upgrade as it is more efficient and reduces the parasitic draw to operate. However, that's way more than I'm looking to spend...
Since the P-1SC was originally sold per Procharger in 2006, and the last time I changed the input shaft seal didn't work... I'm leaning towards either sending it to Procharger for repair potentially upgrading to P1X depending on price... or.... sending it to supercharger rebuilds for a D1X...
No the car was purchased with the long tubes and blower installed. Local performance shop advised .5 to 1 psi drop from long tubes but not 4 lbs. Most everyone has agreed that I should be making around 10 lbs.
The PCV hose isn’t currently connected to the power pipe. So it’s not blow by leaking through the blower. I’m the last picture you can see where part of the green backing is grey… not sure if that is oil or slippage?
I hadn’t considered that but this is more than misting.
It’s tight and...
Well found oil on the tensioner, so I’m going to guess the input shaft seal is leaking??? The oil dipstick was fully coated but I don’t know where else the oil could be coming from…
It got a brand new idler pulley last year.
The chirp is only under load... so it's all speculation, but with potential belt slip on a new belt, new idler pulley, new alternator, it might be more evidence that perhaps the tensioner isn't providing enough tension.
Most everyone says it sounds...
Ok.... so....
When I get home, I need to:
- inspect belt for tension and condition.
- inspect tensioner (I'm guessing try to move it by hand, and maybe watch it with the engine running to see how much it moves at idle.
I have noticed a chirp that I thought was suspension, but could be...
I'll double check, I'm using a Gates K061140HD which was the belt recommended by Procharger. Wishing I had a MAP sensor, so I could data log for boost drops.
Brand new Gates belt last year with only a few hundred miles on it, the tensioner requires quite a bit of force to move with a breaker bar so I assume it's good. I'll look for the black dust you mention.
I plan on doing a boost leak test this weekend. If that comes back good, would you go...
Over the last week I have been driving the Cobra more frequently, it's got a Stage 2 P-1SC with a 3.9 pulley, and I noticed I'm normally right around 6 psi, it briefly hit 7 psi but never higher. The last time I took it out, I got 5 psi. Though the amounts were different, the ramp rate was...
