Do you have an OEM cable or aftermarket? Some aftermarket cables will do that when hot. Best to use an OEM cable and lubricate it (several videos on YouTube show how to do this). Also, watch how you route the cable to keep it as far away from the exhaust as possible.
Extending the pivot ball...
One more point. It is the water in the radiator/block that cools the engine, not the antifreeze. I run more water and less coolant (70% water/30% coolant).
If you think the antifreeze cools the engine better, try running a 100% antifreeze. OTOH, 100% water will work great for a while, but...
I'd also check for a power leak. Something could be on and drawing power while car is shut down. Interior lights and trunk light are good first candidates.
Use a good meter to measure voltage at battery at shut down, then again the next morning.
There are some good buys here. I got a few odds and ends (spare oil fill cap, etc) for cheap, even with shipping.

I always start by adjusting at firewall until there is about ½" of free movement at the top of the pedal. I use my hand on the pedal and push it in until I feel resistance. Then in the driver's seat, I work the clutch, put it in gear and see where it grabs. Fine tune the adjustment until I like...
If you do wrench the head off of the bolt, here's my tip for removal. If you have a broken tap, put it pos a drill, then when spinning, put it on the side of a grinding wheel and sharpen the stub to a point. Keep water nearby to keep quenching the tap so you don't lose it's temper.
If you don't...
When new, my car had a {tink}{tink}{tink} sound as I slowly drove down the road. When I found and removed that tag, the {think} went away.
Years ago, someone from Ford chimed in about the tag, but I'm old, and don't remember so good. CRS.
It is safe on paint, but it will remove any wax.
You can also spray WD-40 for removing the adhesive, and it is also safe on paint. A Bodyshop man told me about that one for vinyl letters (like the car dealership ad.
I just replaced some springs in my trunk lid and thought I would post a few helpful tips.
Here is the new spring in place on the underside of the trunk lid:
I bought the springs at CJ Pony Parts. 2 springs cost me $37.96 to my door...
Just got an email from Rock Auto about some closeout deals. This is the link to Terminator parts:

I got an outer serpentine belt for a great price last time they had one of these sales.
On another thread, people were asking the OP "Why not change your own oil?" instead of using the dealership. I know there will be a lot of opinions on this, but I thought I would put this out for thoughts and comments.
"Common Knowledge" says that most engine wear occurs during startup before...
My boss sent this one to me. He drives a Porche GT3 and was impressed by this Ford. He and I are going to head to Atlanta Motor Speedway and try this in our cars.
>>Enjoy<<
Nothing! Absolutely nothing is wrong. Everything is right.
Instead of the herd mentality taking over and being hard to get a hold of after the sale, Jared is doing everything right. I ordered a clutch, flywheel, and related parts. Jared was most helpful while I was trying to choose my...
I'm getting on the expressway and try to shift from 3 to 4, but mistakenly snatch 2nd. My foot never left the clutch pedal because as soon as it started to catch, and the revs built up, I pushed it back in and granny shifted to 4th.
Engine sounded OK, but no boost. Needle would barely move to...
You've seen (or heard) the commercial. The singer says, "I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you" while the actors lie down on the hood of a Mercedes amid a shower of rose petals. The voice over makes the arrogant claim that "Nobody loves their car more...
I was flushing my brake fluid today, so while the wheels were off, I decided to check their weight.
I put on 18" FR500's (in black) with Nitto 265/35ZR18's a while back and still had my stock wheels, so I broke out the scale to see how much difference in the weights. I got appox 45# for the...
My 03 will hit it's 3rd anniversary this March. Normally I start to think about a new car when the warranty is about up on my current car, so out of habit, I started looking around. As good fortune would have it, I just got the Feb 2006 edition of Mustang Enthusiast. Hey look, there's a test of...
