1) You MUST own a GT500
2) You MUST post your data in a separate post. A dyno sheet would be appreciated
3) Please use SAE correction. If you don't, you must post what is being used.
This has been made a public pole to keep it honest.
I know there has been a lot of conflicting info on this, and perhaps this is already known here, but just in case I thought I should share what our resident parts expert jimmysidecar has come up with. Thanks to dgussin1 for use of his VIN, Jimmy is now absolutely certain. Any way ... the Shelby...
Does anyone know the damping factors of the stock dampers (front and back, and in compression and rebound)? I’m not particular about the units…N/m/sec or lbf/in/sec or what ever. And while on the subject, how about compliance of the stock tires (or any other popular street or road-race...
Did a quick search, but can't find cam specs for the 2001 Cobra. Here is one link:

Just can't believe that duration is right. Does anyone know? I'm looking for:
Lifts, durations, and lobe-separation angle...
Any of you guys see the GT500 article in the Feb issue of 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords? (My apologies if this is a repost or old news.)
Transmission/Gearing/Clutch:
First gear is 2.97:1 (vs. 2.66 on the ’03 and ‘04s). Rear-end ratio is 3.31 (vs 3.55 on the ’03). So overall gear ratio in 1st...
Hey guys,
One of my sons is interested in getting an ’05 GT and found a couple of used ones close by. Since they’re so new, it’s hard to know what they’re worth so I wondered if you guys might be able to offer some help. Below are descriptions of the two cars. I’m not up on what is std...
Thought some of you guys might be interested in this thread. (Didn't feel like posting the entire thing over again so hope you don't mind just a link.) Just a heads up though...it is long. Also, DUW.

Disappointing numbers. They ran (yawn) 14.792 @ 95.82. 1/8 mile was 9.608 @ 74.77. Part of the problem was the weight. The weighed it at 3940 lbs! (That was with two guys in it at 175 and 140 lbs, each). Sad, but the numbers make sense. Using the spec’d power of 300 hp and translating...
Anyone know the diameter of the lower pulleys for the 2#, 4#, 6# etc rings?
Thanks!
-----------------------------------
Edit: Thought I’d add a summary right at the top. The lower pulley diameters listed come directly from South Florida Pulley HQ and Metco Motorsports.
Lower...
I have the DSS level 1 half shafts installed, which come with new boots and bands. (The stock boots won’t fit the inboard side with the narrower DSS bar.) The original boot that was included started leaking around the seal, and Frank (at the DSS) kindly overnighted me another boot and set of...

I just got off the phone with the shop foreman and the good news is…he said Ford has just issued a revised transmission cover plate that has the new TOB bearing-retainer sleeve on it. It also comes with the revised TOB* (See note below). The part number is 3R3Z7005AA. The bad news...
Does anyone know if a chip needs to be removed for any reason before scanning the computer, or can I just turn it off, or doesn’t it even matter if it is on or off?
BTW, this is not a “warranty” question. I want to know if scanning the computer with the chip plugged in and having it on or...
I’ve been messing around with some simple calculations for ET and trap speed and wanted to compare them to reality. (I’m sure you’ve all come across some similar calculators in the past, but I wanted to go through the derivations on my own.) I’ve derived the ET and trap speed a few different...
Anyone know the weights of the following stock parts?
1) Brake rotors front and back
2) Driveshaft
3) Crank
4) Rods
5) Pistons and pins
6) Pressure plate
7) Clutch plate
Thanks!
Just got my copy of 5.0 Mustang & SF in the mail. Nice article on the 351 V10 BOSS mustang. (They just added two extra cylinders on the 4.6L cobra block to get the extra displacement.) Al heads and block w/ 10:1 comp ratio, T56, 9-inch rear w/ 3.82 gears. Results: 426 hp at 6,500 and 400...
Since having the head replaced on my car for the tick, I have had to top off the intercooler tank a few times when I noticed it was at the min fill level. After adding fluid, after just a couple days it would be down to the min fill level again. I thought it was perhaps just an air bubble in...
And if so, did they help with the wheel hop? How much did they drop the car's height? Any other comments? I'm thinking of doing this to eliminate the last vestige of wheel hop that I have.
Thanks!
OK guys, as I mentioned in a previous thread on the G-Tech Pro, I had an idea of how to callibrate out, or correct for the aerodynamic and rolling resistance losses. I tried it out using my Pathfinder (forgive me, please) and it seems to work. I'd be interested in hearing what you guys think...
I just had the MM IRS and Steeda differential bushings installed in my car, and although I've had limited seat time, I just wanted to offer up my opinions. They are a definite improvement over the stock rubber versions. They tighten things up, yet don't seem to increase NVH at all. Thanks go...
Part II of the TOB data collection...

I'll be the first to vote. I've not had a problem yet, but am concerned since it seems to be so pervasive.
Edit: Just to be clear, choices 1, 2 and 3 are for cars that are stock, or "nearly" stock. By "nearly" stock, I mean things like cat back, CAI, throttle body, etc. For choices 4, 5...
I just got my MM IRS bushings a few days ago, and noticed they are black. Others I have seen, and the ones pictured on their web site are red. Anyone know if they've changed the material? I wondered if they were using a polygraphite material now?
I'm happy to report that the new head replacement on my car fixed the tick! It's a tickless wonder now!
The service writer called me mid afternoon to tell me that it was ready to pick up. He said he'd bet I wouldn't even be able to tell they had been in there. Well....he was right! What...
