From day one I had the vibe. You know what I am talking about. Can't feel it, but the mirror shakes at 75 or 85 mph.
Dealer had load force balanced tires, ended up replacing one. Changed out drive shaft and indexed. None of this fixed the problem. Ford SVT Rep drove car and said it was fine...
I have had a noise that comes and goes every several minutes. I thought I was in the dash at first but I soon figured out that it is comming from the clutch pedal. It sounds like a cross between a rattle and a clicking. If I put my any pressure on the pedal down or pulling up, the sound stops...
I have had the vibration issue since day one. I can't feel it, but the rear view mirror blurs at speeds of 80+. The side mirrors stay clear at this speed.
I have had the tires road force balanced and the DS replaced and indexed. This work had no effect. A SVT service rep took the car out and...
Could someone explain why the drive line componets consume a percentage of the total power and not a fixed amount. If the drive line requires X amount of energy to operate due to friction and mass, then the power loss here is a fixed amount. So what am I missing?
An example is comparing the...
Our city counsel, in their infinite wisdom, have decided that car emission control should apply to sound as well as smog since noise is a type of pollution.
The new law, which is expected to get passed, will not allow any car to make more exhaust noise than it does stock.
So our much to...
Many of you may not of noticed this, with all the warm weather so far, but this may be a problem to check out.
When the car is at idle with out any venting or AC turned on, the car has a rough idle. If you turn on the AC the RPM's will pick up a little and the car's idle will smooth out nicely...
I took the 03 in for service on the vibration issue. Remember, you can not feel it, but at speeds over 80 the rear view mirror shakes enough that everthing is blurred. The mirror is tight and is not the problem. There is also a quiet low droning noise from the transmission at this speed.
The...
There is a little bit of a squeal when the clutch pedal is depressed just a inch or so. It does not matter if the car is in first gear or
neutral. Has the same sort of sound you get from a belt slipping. Its sound
is also not consistent. Some times it squeals sometimes it doesn't. I doubt
its...
I drove my new 03 back form AZ yesterday. This beast run great! No pull, No tic, No smell, No vibration?, its in perfect shape...almost
The only thing that caught my eye was the rear view mirror. At speeds above 80mph it shakes enough that it is not possible to identify what type of vehicles...
The dealer in AZ just emailed me, the 03 is in!!!!!
Just got off loaded from the truck.
Here is the heart ache... The dealer's service will be closed until Tuesday. So I can't fly out this weekened to get it. I am also slammed at work next week. I am going to bust balls and get...
A couple just moved in next door. The husband is an air force colonel and drives a C5. Its fairly new, but not the 2002 style. Nice car, I hope he is up for a little fun when my 03 comes in.
But I digress, back to my question.
How do you tell if a vette is the standard C5 with the LS1 or a...
The seats look good. My back fits good. My butt fits good. Problem is the damn thigh bolster!:gt:
I like to sit with the knees spread apart some. You know, give your stuff some room.
I get the idea that the seat was designed to make women sit proper.
I don't have my 03 yet, but I did sit in...
For anyone trying to get good run times on the new Snake, remember, for every 1000 feet above sea level you lose about 4% of your power.
Someone at 2500 feet above sea level would have a 10% power loss. At a mile high you lose 21% power.
Air pressure is also effected by temp and humidity...
How many miles should the Band Spanking New Cobra have on it after the dealer is done prepping it?
I would think 5 to 10 miles should be on the odomiter. Yet I see some people posting that their cars have 30 or so. Thats messed up!:cuss:
You know them dealer sales and tech personnel are...
I sure see a lot of people talking about getting a different exhaust before they even have the car. Now the way I see that, its like putting salt on your food before you tast it.
Why not get the Cobra and then, after hearing its purrr/roar, then decide what to do.
Now for those of us who want...
The 2003 Coupe MSRP w/ Destination is $33,750
I assume that the option L59 for Gas Tax @ $1,000 must be added.
So the Cobra's MSRP is really $34,750. Correct?
Anyone know when the first production run will be completed? At the speed they are going, it sounds like they will still be making...
I think most of us all thought the 2nd production run on the cobra was going to be in fall. I am told by my dealer that this is incorrect. The 2nd run will not be until spring 2003.
So if you didn't get yours ordered on the first run or getting chrome rims, you will have to wait a year:eek:
I got this photo from my dealer. It was too big, over 100kb, to attach. So Steve Holland copied it into a location you can find with this link. Nice look at the standard rim.
