    It's Official! 2020 GT500 Makes 760HP

Tremec DCT guts are pretty stout, though slicks do have a way of finding weak spots in everything. C8 'vette will get the same from Tremec, just a year or so later.

Spy Shots—Best Look Yet at Bronco Mule

Exactly right, imo. Different but surely competing ...and that implies broad optioning/packaging to target a wide marketplace net.

Spy Shots—Best Look Yet at Bronco Mule

The Wrangler is a 'religious' market. I don't see Ford targeting it directly. Removeable doors? No. Water drainage? No. They will target it indirectly but not head-on, imo. My guess it will be optionable to be as capable as the Wrangler off-road (2-dr) but will also target Cherokee and...

Spy Shots—Best Look Yet at Bronco Mule

Ford did state at one point (almost 2 years ago now) that there will be two versions of the new Bronco, the implication being a 4-door and a 2-door version. This is a vehicle that ships in a matter or months so it has already been fully tested for AT LEAST 1.5-2 years in its FINAL mechanical...

Anyone else frustrated with Ford over the next GT500?

Ford's new Driver Control Technology (yeah, they stepped on "DCT" -lol) for powertrain, DCT, next-gen Magnaride, new EPAS steering, 4s vs cup-2 tires, etc) are uniquely integrated/programmed for each of the three tiers (base [no cunards or whatever those thingies behind front wheels are called...

Good 10-page article on the 2020 GT500 in the June MM&FF with insights from Ed Krenz, Ford Performance Chief Functional manager.

Anyone else frustrated with Ford over the next GT500?

Yup. That is correct. That's why the header configuration matters since you can only do that with headers that correctly 'time' the pulse spacing at the collector, which also aids in exhaust gas extraction -- more important for NA motors but also beneficial with SC.

Anyone else frustrated with Ford over the next GT500?

Well, the sensors don't care but the engine management logic does. Sure, you can turn off a lot of stuff in the tune to get around all that but there's no way Ford releases engines like that. If you can get hold of any of the recent Motorcraft Principles of Operations manuals for any of the...

Anyone else frustrated with Ford over the next GT500?

I think long tubes will always perform better than factory headers but Ford would not just carry these over from the GT350 if the firing order was not fully compatible as the engine would not run right because it would be difficult (maybe impossible) to get the O2 wide-bands to read accurately...

Anyone else frustrated with Ford over the next GT500?

Funny thing is the firing order can be different and the same headers WILL be optimized IF the CPC firing order permits a compatible sequencing, even though different than FPC. I had not considered that initially but apparently that is the case. In fact, I came here to post that up after...

Anyone else frustrated with Ford over the next GT500?

The GT350 FPC factory headers are a cascaded design: they are neither equal length nor are they 4-into-1. On both sides they are 2-into-1 then 3-into-1 @ the collector, so the firing order is key because the 2-into-1 long runner intercepts the additional cylinder such that, when joined at the...

Anyone else frustrated with Ford over the next GT500?

I don't think the headers can be a GT350 carry-over. FPC and CPC have very different firing order.

New GT500 track pack wing (2 way adjustable with Gurney flap)

Someone will surely offer replacement security fasteners ...black chrome would be highly corrosion resistant and look pretty sweet too!

Anyone else frustrated with Ford over the next GT500?

Yeah, there's so much that can be done but it's all a function of the cost/performance competitive dance ...a wedge for Ford right now having both a weight and cost disadvantage and with S650 pushed out a couple years (MY21/22?). Still, seems like a wonderful beast in the making ;-)

Ah, didn't know GT350 had composite radiator support -- awesome! Composite subframe -- not holding my breath ;-)

Hardly any surface that has not been aero modified in this 2019 GT500 mule.... Also check out those lower front intakes ...clearly visible are mondo heat exchangers in there! This mule seems to be wearing pre-2018 refresh headlights. Hopefully Ford was diligent on weight reduction too. Sweet!

Anyone else frustrated with Ford over the next GT500?

It's the 10spd auto that makes the '18MGT as quick as the GT350. Six-speed to six-speed the GT350 is still considerably quicker and will still out-handle the MGT PP1 and I'll bet will also out-handle MGT PP2 (likely even just the vanilla GT350) ...but the gap is surely closing. We know the...

Seriously doubting it will look like that ...at least I hope not! That Cobra just does not look right in that spot. Ford did file the 4th extension on a King Cobra Trademark earlier this month ...use or lose date is March 8th 2019 ...to file a proof of use statement.

Anyone else frustrated with Ford over the next GT500?

Great find!! Las Vegas show ...I'll have to see what I can find out (if anything -lol) at NYIAS end of this month. Yeah, really hard to hear but sounds like 19MY GT500 in "calendar year 2019" and a GT350 and GT500 presumably both in 2019 as an 19MYs? Still, I don't see Romeo Niche building...

Don't you usually get a preliminary "proprietary" OG before that -- so dealers can provide any feedback ...or is it in the order system even before the prelim?

Anyone else frustrated with Ford over the next GT500?

Yup, that's what I'm thinking ...+/- August GT500 start so as to show in dealers in +/- October. What I really want to know is if a MY19 GT350 shows in the Order Guide. There should be a preliminary Mustang order guide coming out around now with a final several weeks later. I find it hard to...
