Hi all,
I recently moved to Baltimore from Connecticut and am looking to see if anybody knows of any reputable metal fabricators between Baltimore and DC. I need to get floors and mini tubs done of my '83 GT project car.
Any help would be great
Hey all
I'm looking for a good metal fabrication shop in CT. Just picked up an 83 GT that needs to be caged, minitubbed, and have new floors installed. I hear a lot about miller race cars out in wallingford, but am looking for different options.
Thanks a lot
Up for sale is a black, real 1993 SVT Cobra (670 of 4993) located in Connecticut. I have all documentation including build certificate, brochures, child safety buckle, dealer window sticker and more.
Performance parts include
block bored .030 over
all new bearings
speed pro forged...
So i work in sales which involves tons of driving (about 700 miles a week just for work). Driving that much in my tahoe was pretty much killing my wallet haha. So I pulled the trigger on this little bad boy.
'02 SVT Focus. I'm glad its in the same family as my cobra
I love the car...
So heres the story,
I was out on the highway tonight moving at excessive speeds. Everything was great, took some fast bends. I locked the tires up because I almost missed my exit. After this i started getting a wobble, especially at 50+ mph. The wobble seems to be coming from the front. The...
So my ignition control module shit the bed on me last week. I replaced it, drove the car 3 times, and it just crapped out again. What's causing this? I just got the car tuned and its been acting up since. could that be a problem?
I just installed a coolingmist 250psi pump using the stock wiper fluid reservoir. Anyways, i'm curious as to if there are any other substitutes to using boost juice? The shipping cost is more than what the actually product costs. Where can I pick up some cheap 50/50 water/meth that wont mess up...
I'm in the planning stages of coating my garage floor. The original porous surface isn't cutting it anymore. Does anybody have pics of either epoxy floors, tiled floors, anything?
Thanks guys!
I was wondering if anybody has had Janetty Racing (ted jannetty) tune their car? I hear good things, especially that he takes his time and is meticulous. Any input would be great
Hey guys, i finally worked out the small kinks and its time to retune. I was thinking, for the money i can pick up a decent 3rd or 4th gen PMS on corral or something for the price of 1 or 2 good dyno tunes. I'm a rookie with piggy backs like this, so is it worth it?
i'm curious as to how to accurately set timing with a blower. I just replaced the head gaskets and am having some timing issues. It doesnt want to start up off the bat and it idles high. My question is do i unplug the chip and set timing? I set it to 10 degrees which complies with the tune i...
so im going to try and make a long story short. I just installed head studs, got everything back together, and started the car up. It idled really well, but sounded like i had open headers even though the exhaust was fitted up perfectly. The passenger side collector flange was cracked so i...
i have CT emissions due soon and there's no way i'm getting cats on my car anytime soon. Does anybody know a place that can "help me out" in the Hartford area? Please PM me if you know of anywhere. Thanks
Hey all,
So i fried my stock size (245/45/17) nitto's and am ready to step it up a notch. What tire size will fill the rear wheel wells and fit on the stock 17x7.5'' wheel? I'm looking for something like an et street radial or something of that sort.
Thanks

i'm ordering head gaskets for my 306 and encountered a problem on summitracing when ordering. There are two identical gaskets (.030 over, .040 thickness) but different part numbers. One is specified as svo round bore and the other is non svo. What does this mean? are the gaskets bank specific?
Here are some pics from today and a little montage of the build I just completed. Its my first time doing one of these. Also, its a supercharged 306
Heres the build vid

I'm just about finished up with a little 306 project. Still needs a couple things like a breather/catch can setup, new water pump gasket (already blew out), and a cowl hood. I'll also be cleaning up the wiring a bit, and it still needs paint on the nose, but that'll come with the new hood. Just...
I got my supercharged 306 running and it was great, then I noticed that the temp maxed out and the coolant wasn't taking. I then replaced the replaced the thermostat with a 180 degree unit. I jacked the front end of the car up and added coolant in the reservoir, top cap, upper hose mount, and...
I'm building a 306 right now and it's been coming along steady. I plan on using the stock oil pump, but noticed something odd while looking through my breakdown pics, and the actual part itself. There seems to be a kink on the pickup. From all other angles it looks normal, but from up front it...
I was wondering if anybody knows of any quality machine shops in the hartford area that are priced reasonably. I just went to one that quoted me at almost $600 for a wash and to bore it .030 over. I would have expected it to be closer to 400-450. Thoughts or recommendations please
i need to get my timing chain cover off and the balancer wont come off. I removed the main crank bolt in the middle, but am I missing something? Is there any particular technique for removal?
Hey guys, im pulling the motor out of my car and need an engine hoist. I was wondering if anybody has one I can borrow. I live out in Avon CT, so anywhere in CT or Mass is fine, just needs to be able to fit in a suburban. Shouldn't take more than a day, so let me know
