    03 Cobra & X3 Logging Problems

I have talked with the SCT tech line on this and was told it's normal. Just want to see if I'm the only one or not with this problem. When logging, the gauges in the car go on and off and sometimes stay off so long it makes all the lights come on. Also when I try to log without the laptop...

How to lower your clutch pedal for quicker, firmer, shifts and performance driving.

I'll wait till I have to put in a new clutch I guess. No matter what I did the PP was being pushed in WAY too much. Thanks for the advice...

How to lower your clutch pedal for quicker, firmer, shifts and performance driving.

LOL You're still not getting it. I have adjusted the FW adjuster so far out that fingers on the pressure plate are getting pushed in by the TO bearing. The car still doesn't shift worth a damn that way! If I keep going, like you tell me to, then the clutch will be slipping with my foot off...

How to lower your clutch pedal for quicker, firmer, shifts and performance driving.

I understand there is less travel with the MM pedal height kit but adding a spacer between the FW adjuster and cable flange will, in turn do nothing more then allow more adjustment if the cable is too slack and you can't turn the FW adjuster out enough or hit the valve cover. Someone back me up...

How to lower your clutch pedal for quicker, firmer, shifts and performance driving.

OK, I've been thinking about this more over lunch and talking with a tech (I work at a garage) and putting a spacer there will do nothing. You are failing to see what I'm saying... Look at it like this, I can still unscrew the FW adjuster at least another 1 1/2". This would put the cable...

How to lower your clutch pedal for quicker, firmer, shifts and performance driving.

I will get an aluminum spacer made here today and try this then. How thick should I make it?

How to lower your clutch pedal for quicker, firmer, shifts and performance driving.

My FW adjuster is only out half way and is no where near the valve cover as it sits and the TO bearing is riding on the PP like it shouldn't be as it is. If I add a spacer between the cable flange and and FW adjuster I'm doing nothing more then moving the adjuster towards the firewall more. I...

How to lower your clutch pedal for quicker, firmer, shifts and performance driving.

Wasn't the reason you used the spacer in the 1st place was to give you extra adjustment because it hit the valve cover? You put this spacer on to give you more adjustment right? So your FW adjuster is screwed in more and you have more room around the valve cover. I see your point but it makes...

How to lower your clutch pedal for quicker, firmer, shifts and performance driving.

Over the weekend I installed the MM clutch pedal height adjuster and Steeda QR quadrant. I adjusted the pedal as high as the kit will allow, just a little above the brake pedal. I did not use the spacer between the cable and FW adjuster because I didn't have an issue with it being out too far...

    Drag Suspension Setup Question

Hey guys, Just wondering about my suspension. I just bought the car a few months ago the way it is modded and only was to the track once. I ran a best 1/4 of 12.538 @ 113mph, best 60' 1.918. But I was having troubles shifting that time. I have the hard shifting issue fixed and am going back...

Hard Shifting? Come In!! The Fix!!

Well I've been trying to find out why my car has been shifting hard for a while now. I was about to order a new clutch even though it wasn't slipping. After hours of research looking for the right fluid I decided to put in Amsoil synthetic ATF to see if it helped, it didn't. I ordered a...

    1st Time to the Track

Well just got back from the track. Ran the cobra for the 1st time. I'm running 26x10.50x16 MT ET Streets for now. They are from my last car and only have a few passes on them so I'll run them out and get 11.50s after that. I'm on the stock clutch and have been having trouble shifting, speed...

Spec 3+ Vs Puck Style Clutches

I'm in the market for a new clutch. I had the Spec stage 3+ in my old car and liked it and it held hard. Just wondering, since the Spec 3+ is a full faced disc and would be heavier would it slow down power and speed shifts? Is there any other benefits a puck style will give over a full...

    People With Tri-Ax Come In!

Are your shifts good? I mean does it go right into gear when shifting hard at high RPMs? I'm asking because when I bought my car it came with one in it. I find when shifting quick it feels like I hit a gate for a second before it actually goes into gear, like a bit of restriction before it...

Installed FW Adjuster & Quadrant, Questions

I just installed a Steeda double hook quadrant (got from a friend, used the closest hook to the firewall) and BBK firewall adjuster (stock clutch & cable). I adjusted it so that the throwout bearing is just barely touching the pressure plate because any looser and the clutch was engaging right...

    Timing Questions

Just wondering what guys are running for timing on what octane. I'm not talking max timing, I'm talking timing curve and how much you're running down low. What timing are you guys running at what RPM? I'm using the base tune file for 91 octane that came with my SCT Pro Racer Package just...

    Did the APS cooling mod

Did the APS head cooling mod this weekend. All was going well and I was doing it with the S/C on. I sprayed that office compressed air in a can upside down on the frost plug and two hits, it was right out no problem. Put the fitting in the head and trimmed the little bracket that holds the...

    Put some new plugs in....

And WOW what a difference! I pulled NGK TR6s out and put in NGK TR6IXs. The car ran fine up until last week when it started to miss a bit at idle and low RPMs. The Iridium's fixed it completely though! And I have to say, this car is SO easy to change plugs in! :rolling:
