Never had a drain back issue. I run 2 return to the oil pan. Drain off the turbo to a tee, one line to scavenge pump to oil pan and another line to oil pan (no pump). Secondary line there just incase the scavenge pump fails or forget to turn on. Oil still has a way to pan.
Like the setup...
Last week, I finally made it to the track. Took the cobra down for an easy pass. Blew the seal on the old journal bearing at the end. Decided to retire the old girl after 10 years.
Today finished up fab work on the new turbo. Waiting on bigger injectors to start on the tune next.
Mines not quiet at low rpm. Running below 3k, it slaps and bangs into gears. Butter at mid to high range.(can't feel it shift) Reverse doesn't clunk.
Only time reverse clucked is when there was damage to the plantaries and twisted the input shaft / splines on torque converter.
Uncomfortable...
My experience in Wisconsin is.... take it out of state to a rep tuner ( someone (familiar with the setup) or remote tune as stated. Lund Racing, ect.. I gave up and tuned my own. Something else you might want to look into.
Lol badass 12"s to cover that up. Single chamber flowmasters would definitely be louder.
Mostly did the 40s and magnaflow. First start up magnaflows were quiter but after warming them up a few times always seem slightly louder. Everyone has deferent experiences i guess.
Hated the...
Hmm, odd. Magnaflows straight thru design is usually least effective at reducing noise compared to flowmasters chambered design. Was the magnaflows "broken in" usually they're quite at first for 200-500miles, than after they get slightly louder. Personal experience and customer experience the...
Whole ordeal is shitty but kinda nice. Able to have the time to finish up what I needed to get done to the car. Couldn't find a decent shop that would do 8.50 cage without raping. So fabbing it up myself. Just have 2 bars to weld in left. Impressed, able to fully weld everything and have a...
Covered many times. Depends on how crazy you want to go. Usually diamond, gibtech, and or CP pistons, Non-Moly coated rings.... (I use stainless piston rings, never any issues) ,arp head studs, arp main studs, arp jack screws, Compression bump for e85 usually 10.5:1 + (could do a 8.7:1 through...
Chances are if you blew the last motor and have another long block to drop in. turbos, intercooler, intake, oil lines, and ect... all need to be gone through before dropping in the new long/short block. Could see 5k not a problem then.
For street driving.
If you're drag racing all the time then yes, want to wear the rings in beating the crap out of it. Usually cause blow by at lower rpms then. -rings not flexed like they would be at a higher load. Really no break in period then, either they take or don't. Usually if they...
My experience with ring failure has been the boring and honing processes have been done incorrectly. Each has a different process.
For street driving with stainless, usually no boost / excessive load for 100 miles, get the to wear . Flat, then hammer it a couple times after with boost, then...
