Ya but if I did that, I eliminate a pristine truck with exceptional low miles ( for now )
I plan to take the drop spindle that’s on the truck now and replace it with OEM as well as the rear leaf springs.
I’ve ordered a Hotchkiss lowering kit that will actually raise the truck in front slightly...
Once the original horn started to work after I had a key and second fob programed(albeit just one horn was working), the replacement horn came in and I put it on and works fine.
I have an appointment next Friday but may change it to getting my OEM knuckles and springs and rear leaf springs from...
100% correct. I don’t plan to really mod this truck much, I think the horsepower gains are minimal compared with the Shelby GT 500 07 model which is what I had. The only difference is the new plan to drive this on a daily basis and I know that the Value will slowly drop
The question about the...
I appreciate the good news thank you so much.
I know the internals of the lightning truck are not built their OEM from my understanding. Has anyone taken a 5.4GT 500 block and put it in the lightning and hooked all the accessory‘s to it from the lighting Back?
I had a GT500 that had copious mods and dynoed out at 770 at the rear wheels. So I know a little bit about modifying a vehicle but not so much the lightning. What are the basic first mods I can do to increase horsepower but still keep the vehicle safe within its limits
I want to keep the stock...
Funny thing happened to my truck today. Took it into my dealership that I retired from and had the second key and fob programmed, and when they brought the truck back the guy clicked the key fob to make sure that I knew it was working and the horn honkEd. If you read any of my past posts, you’ll...
I need a clock spring for my new 2001 F150 lightning and they’re hard to come by. So I had the dealership that I retired from do a nationwide search and I found three dealers that had them in stock. The first dealer called had one and he’s holding it for me and will ship it to me on Monday.
The...
To all replied. I apologize for not responding sooner. I assumed I get a alert that someone had responded and never did. Therefore I didn’t even look until now.
had three things wrong with it.
-horn not working
-bad passenger side fog light
-truck to low
I now have two new fog light housings...
im working on that. I believe the knuckles/spindles are interchangeable and not lighting specific. I believe the rear leafs maybe. But sorting that out
Not a franchise store, just a large individual dealer and it was the only red Gen II close to me. I don’t know a lot about lightings and should have had things clarified before buying it. I am not upset with the truck. It’s a true 13000 mile truck and shows it.
what I plan on doing is just...
As most of you know I just bought a pristine 2001 F150 lightning with 13,000 miles. It’s been lowered and want to put it back to the standard height. I took the truck to the shop that does all my work and this is what he told me.
Someone put a drop knuckle/lowering spindles on the front to...
Thank you !
Well I plan to be conservative with the truck so hope to have it many many years !
Truck is currently at my mechanics shop to do a general safety check, find why the horn isn’t working and to raise the coil overs.
The shop wants me to flush the brake fluid, pwr steering fluid...
Thank you.’
got the one fog light fixed but need new housing but still can’t get the horn to work \
not the fuse and not the connection at the horn
