Shelby American unveils a new Mustang at the MCA 40th show in Indy

Today at the Mustang Club of America’s 40th Anniversary show in Indianapolis, Indiana, Shelby American unveiled an affordable new option to its lineup. Available based on either the EcoBoost Mustang or Mustang GT, the 2017 Shelby GTE four-cylinder pumps out 335 horsepower, while the V-8 version produces 456 horsepower.

On Monday we learned that Ford, Hertz and Shelby celebrated the 50th anniversary of the 1966 Shelby GT350-H rental car with the introduction of a 2016 Shelby GT-H at the New York International Auto Show. Starting this Memorial Day weekend, you’ll be able to take a summer road trip in style by renting one at a participating airport rental counter. If you would rather own one, however, that opportunity is coming in June.

Hertz and Shelby celebrate the Rent-A-Racer anniversary with a new GT-H

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 50 years since FordShelby and Hertz made the brilliant idea of being able to rent a Shelby Mustang a reality when the companies introduced the 1966 Shelby GT350-H. Today the companies celebrated that anniversary at the New York International Auto Show as they took the wraps off the third Shelby rental in the lineage—the 2016 Shelby GT-H.

Now Shelby is going global and expanding its Mustang palette with the introduction of a Shelby GT based on the EcoBoost 2015+ Mustang.
