Early Monday morning Ford dropped the official information about the new additions to the 2016 Mustang product lineup. Among those new offerings were several new package and trim options highlighted by the return of the California Special. Of course, with the 2016 order banks opening up soon, it didn’t take long for the car’s order guide to slip out into the Internet ether. After reviewing the guide, we learned a few more things about the forthcoming Mustang model year options.

Ahead of the annual Consumer Electronics Show held on January 6-9 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Ford is announcing two new SYNC 3 AppLink enhancements. One called Life360 is designed to cut down on driving distraction and keep you informed of your family’s whereabouts. The other, from AccuWeather, delivers local weather updates right to your in-dash screen.

On-board vehicle infotainment systems have become as important as styling and fuel economy when it comes to selling vehicles to mainstream consumers. At the forefront of this movement since it partnered with Microsoft to create the original SYNC system, Ford recently pulled the covers off the new SYNC 3 system.
