Pros and cons of both plz how much boost will a cobra motor hold safe hp#

Both motors are ~8 psi and 450RWHP...the mach has a 'tad' more CR, but not much...they have better intake cams for TQ, but cobra's cams are better for higher HP near redline.....

Cobra - IRS with 3.27s
Mach - Solid with 3.55s.


For only 3 or 5 K to mod...I would just go with gears, exhaust, CAI, tune, ALUM DS....if you get the mach, go with Intake sacer.......Even with the Cobra and 5k to spend, that will cut it close to getting the car done right, unless you get a good deal on here for a used blower.

It will really come down to looks, and if you want a solid axle vs. IRS, and more TQ. I imagine you will change the gears......unless you do go FI...then the mach has 3.55s, but you will only have 3k to spend...which won't be enough to go FI.

There is a blown Vortech'd Mach 1 for sale here...I believe they are asking 22 or 23..if you can get the extra 2 or 3, that will solve ALL your issues....and the car was done RIGHT.

i would go with the mach unless you really like the idea of owning something svt. ive driven a 99 cobra it was a vert but with intake,midpipe,4:10's, and tune. it didnt really impress me the mach was alot smoother i thought.

BTW - I don't think the point of the mach being newer should be a major issue...for one main reason.....they both ahve the same mileage.

Basically the same platform, but the mach just has a killer look that turns heads everywhere. I can sit at a red light and usually notice at least one person looking at the car. If I could do it all again, I would still pick the mach.
