The 99 was the same crap seats and frames as the 98 and previous years.

Any bolster mods would not be backed by a real seat frame. HELL, my cheap API seats hold me in better than any of those early seat frames. No amount of foam can replace actual metal frame.

Not sure about the differences between the 01 and 03-04 seat frames.

Do you have any pics of the covers by any chance? Wanting to do this in the future but I want to see how well the vinyl looks.

Here are some pics of the covers.

Well I think I’m going to finally start on this project. Overlayed the the covers and yes the colors are off but got few ideas to help. Changing the steering wheel, air bag and column trim to all black for starters. Next debating to change out the back seat also as I’ve located a mint oem seat and then possibly change the door panels and rear trim panels to the two tone black/saddle from 96/97 cobra. You guys agree?

@rzimmerl

I can confirm all the seat frames are the same. I did this exact conversion a while back in my GT. Everything fits fine.

My best advice to you is go SLOW so you don't **** up like I did. The hole for my lumbar support button is off because I was rushing to get done.

Plan on two days and make sure you heat up your covers either in the sun or in the house. It makes a HUGE difference when sliding them on and getting the bolsters into the covers on the seat base.

Don't actually cut any holes until you get the covers in position properly and secured.

I know this sounds stupid but you may want to consider ditching the power drivers seat base.

The control switch panel for the seat requires you to cut a large hole in the foam. Doing this causes the drivers seat the not feal as firm because it now lacks support near the middle front. This is also due to the foam having less density than the OEM ford foam.

If I would have known this I would have grabbed a manual seat base from the junk yard.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Good luck.
Do the manual seat tracks need to be 99-04 or will the 94-98 tracks work? Also are they interchangeable from driver to passenger side?

I am not sure if the 94-98 tracks will work. It shouldn't be a problem finding some 99-04 V6 seats in a junkyard though. Those things are everywhere.

The tracks are not interchangeable left to right if your seat belt buckle is mounted to the track. There's a point late in 03 I believe where the mounted the buckle to the tunnel. All years before that were mounted to the tracks.

My 98 buckles are bolted to the tunnel so I will not be using the seat bracket mounted buckles.
