the only way to remove the tune would be to overwrite it with another tune or you have a pcm failure. You can have the battery out for years and it wont matter, it's not in the temporary memory.

the tune file should stay on the device unless someone deletes it (which on every tuner I've seen would require it to be connected to a laptop).

if the light on the traction control button is always off and won't turn on this is a hardware issue imho. Wiring, button, fuse etc...

The tune shouldn't disappear from the hand held or the car's ECU. There was no reason for them to mess with the ECU.

Thought I would report back regarding abs/traction control after clutch install. "Car is getting a PCM code , invalid data - instrument cluster modbus error. Another Strange code he hasnt seen before and is locking him out. Needs to be reflashed as there was an addendum stating flashed to many times. He feels this is an instrument cluster issue and not the abs module. He checked all wires and fuses and everything checks out. Custom Tune was still on the handheld and he reloaded it just in case." His suggestion was to bring to Ford, have reflashed and then reinstall the tune. This doesnt make sense as traction control button and traction icon would light up on the dash before clutch install.
