No thanks. Might just keep it now. Seems like the market for them is bad...not sure why, but it is.

I've been noticing this too. They held their value for a LOT longer than most other cars, even other performance cars. I just think that the depreciation they have avoided for the first 2 years is hitting all at once. Maybe its the GT500, or the number of retro/performace cars slated for production - I don't know...but as a future buyer I guess I cant complain too much :)

I know what you mean, there still lightyears ahead of pretty much anything on the road in the 30k price range its very hard for me to accept selling cheap just to replace it with a less expensive car that won't perform in the same ballpark with it. Seems like it might be the last "pony" car made if you think about it. The performance per dollar and the "rawness" of the driving experience won't be had in the new more refined cars from Ford, Chevy, and Dodge. Just my opinion.

I think we are seeing the prices of performance cars from here on out. Think about it - in 93, an LX coupe new was 16ish, cobra was what, 20-21? and 10 years later the cobra is 34ish? Seems like 34k to 42k for the 07s isn't really that far out of whack - but it has to stop sometime.

Yeah it does have to stop sometime. There gonna price guys like you and me right out of these cars. Its completely insane to buy a 34k car to modify and race don't get me wrong...but at 42k seems stupid instead of insane...lol...I guess we all have different lines we won't cross 34k and 3700lbs is my line, I will not cross into the 42k 3900lb market :) Ther is very little outside of under the hood I find appealing about the new Shelby.

The other thing that I am sure is driving the price down is the number of them popping up for sale. I have a bad habit of keeping cars for 2-3 years...if others are doing the same, there was a shortage of them for the first years but now there are so many for sale, people can pick and choose...and it drives the price down. When people start shopping, they start price checking with KBB and such. Private party on a low mile 03 coupe is just under 25 right now and the prices that I am seeing the cars ACTUALLY sell for is reflecting that.

KBB can lick my sack. LOL

What is the KBB on a 40,000 mile 1993 cobra? $7700

25k for the run of the mill 2003 Cobra seems reasonable to me, but to find one in the kind of shape and taken care of the way I would want it'd be worth every penny of 30k. I've been obsessed with these cars since day 1 and been to many events and been inside and out ALOT of these cars and the nice ones are getting very rare.

I agree - and what I am saying is that the people who were originally obesessed (at any price) with these cars either own them now and want to keep them, or own them and are ready to get something else (for whatever reason). The next wave of owners are people who love the cars but are expecting them to have depreciated somewhat. I agree, KBB is r-tard on a lot of cars (especially older niche cars like LX coupes and Fox Cobras) but their current pricing on 03-04 Cobras is actually very typical of what I see them selling for currently. Like the Fox cars, I think there will be a point where KBB continues to deprecite the value, but the cars actuall selling value lingers higher - but I seriously doubt it's going to linger anywhere near the original selling price of 30k (04s could be bought for under 30 at the end of the year).

People who own them and want to sell them want to see a higher price and people who are looking to buy want to see a lower price - no big surprise here. I'm not trying to devalue the cars at all...the bang for the buck is huge - I'm just talking outloud as to why I think the prices are the way they are and why the sales are down.

Is the cage noisey at all>??? Any rattles or squeeks from it>??? That cage is the only thing keeping me from being VERY interested in it. Looks like an awesome car. The only reason I sold my Lightning is because after I put a cage in it I HATED it!!! Thanks, -Mat-
