Hello everyone, for those of you with the 11-14 Holley Sniper intake manifold, the seals sold with the manifold are discontinued. The seals that come with the manifold are poor quality and end up not sealing properly / begin to create a vacuum leak over time. I’ve had the manifold for 4 years now and the seals have flattened and became brittle, I smoke tested the system, after getting a small vacuum leak code, and every single seal for the manifold were leaking. Now since Holley no longer sells the seals I had to come up with a fix for this issue;
I got the FEL-PRO MS 97215 Intake Manifold Gasket Set from amazon ($15), and some Permatex anaerobic gasket maker. Took off the fuel rail system and the intake manifold. Clean the mating surfaces of the head and the manifold with scotchbrite and wipe off with brake clean, allow it to dry. Coat seals in multipurpose synthetic grease and install into manifold. Wipe off excess grease and cleaned outside portion of seals. Apply bead of gasket maker around outside of seals. Align and reinstall manifold, torque adequately and according to procedure, then install all other parts. Do not start the vehicle, let the gasket maker cure 12-24 hours. The excess sealant left around the intake ports will remain wet, the sealant is anaerobic meaning that sealant that is clamped between the intake and heads will dry and harden due to no air being present, and you can wipe the excess away. Hopefully it sealed correctly for you as it worked for me, the sealant can be scrubbed away easily if you ever need to take the manifold off again. Many will probably note that the sealant may not be necessary and the seals can be used by themselves with grease, this may be true but these seals are slightly larger than the Holley brand seals and I didn’t want to allow the manifold to pinch the seals and possibly leave room for another vacuum leak. This fix worked for me and I have not had an issue with it.
