To be quite frank, I found this to be sad. They seem so lost and confused, having no idea what makes life wonderful. Imagine being a liberal democrat for one moment, sad. Close your eyes and listen to them talk, wow.

Well at least he didn't make it political which I feared he would. It's not democrat vs republican. It's the power of the rich, as he said. The banks got bailed out and we the people got screwed.

The rich don't want their views of the city ruined by buildings over like 2 stories, so cheap housing can't be build. It's that simple. In terms of rent thus, it's supply vs demand. At some point of people move away and minimum wage jobs in SF go unmanned, they'll have to pay more.

In Cali it is not the rich stopping construction, it is the enviro nut jobs that got the laws passed and sue as soon as the building permit is applied for. The time from when a development is proposed to when it actually gets built can run decades! No surprise they have a housing shortage.

Funny how people can naturally reduce their goals and standard of living because someone told them they should, or shamed them.

I guess when someone offers one meal a day for $100.00 they will jump on that too.

You very well could be partially right, but I've also read it's the NIMBY folks, aka not in my back yard. When you pay 2.5 million for a 4 bedroom house with a view of the bay...do you want a 7 story high rise being build 2 block away, thus blocking your view? "Well the city needs more affordable housing...just not blocking the view I paid for."
